Betsy Mayer at Last Generation: Strangely, as the age of viability outside the womb continues to shrink, the appetite for late term abortions continues to grow in lands where Christian ethics once guided the moral consciences of its citizens.
In late January, the state of New York passed historical legislation to decriminalize participation in late term abortions after 24 weeks. Touted as a “reproductive health option” that was “good for women,” the law also now allows medical professionals who are not doctors to perform abortions in New York. In essence, the law allows for a mother to decide that if she doesn’t want a child to live, even as that child is being born, she can kill the child, and that killing can no longer be considered a criminal act. And if a child survives an abortion, the abortion provider will not be prosecuted for killing that child.
“Cuomo celebrated his legislative victory by ordering that several New York landmarks, including One World Trade Center, be lit up in pink. Pro-life activists cried foul, pointing out that 11 unborn children killed by the 9/11 terrorists are memorialized at the site.”
The hearts of humanity are becoming increasingly wicked and match the description Jesus gave of the world right before His return.
“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” Matt. 24:12.
