Lent is the Roman Catholic season of “of fasting, repentance, moderation, spiritual discipline and reflection on the teachings of Jesus Christ.”
In an ecumenical effort, six churches in the Auburn, California area, are celebrating lent together. They are St. Teresa of Avila Catholic, Auburn Presbyterian, Auburn Seventh-day Adventist, Bethlehem Lutheran, First Congregational and Pioneer United Methodist. Each group will hold one event in their church and will feature a guest pastor from another church to conduct the service.
“The Rev. Arnold Parungao of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Auburn said the joint events are an effort to unite Christians in the community.”
Pastor Dan Appel of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist said he believes that the collaboration among organizations will bring about good faith among Auburn Christians. “I think the intent was to just give the people the opportunity to get acquainted with other pastors,” Appel said. “So often, people hear the same speaker over and over again. This gives people the chance to get better acquainted. There is also an attempt to show that while we may have theological differences with each other, we still respect each other as followers of God.”
Appel was guest speaker at the Catholic service on the first Wednesday of Lent.
Participants’ foreheads were marked with a cross of ashes, in the typically Roman Catholic ritual.
The only underlying reason for the ecumenical movement is to bring the churches into the bosom of Rome so that they can unite around the Papal rituals and services and eventually come under the authority of the pope.
“All that dwell upon the earth shall worship him.” Revelation 13:8

Monday April 14th, 2014 at 11:36 AMPastor Hall Mayer, to be honest I am thinking more since of lately that there might be a visible split in the SDA Church as we get closer to the final day!

Monday April 14th, 2014 at 08:22 PMThe LORD JESUS CHRIST delivered me from out of the Beast Power into this marvelous truth of Adventism concerning the true 7TH Day Sabbath, His Health and Moral laws. It is sad to see a SDA Church uniting with the Beast Power in any part of service when you know what the truth is. Time is winding up and JESUS IS COMING! WHY would YOU PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS AND LEAD THE CONGREGATION ASTRAY. YOU WIN OR LOSE BY THE WAY YOU CHOOSE, HEAVEN OR HELL ARE THE ONLY TWO CHOICES. REMEMBER JUDGEMENT DAY IS COMING AND WE ALL MUST STAND BEFORE GOD, FACE TO FACE AND ANSWER BEFORE HIM,…ONLY!

Friday April 18th, 2014 at 06:29 PMGloria first we need jesus to our chuch. Remember the jews rejected the present truth and messiah on those days. As a spiritual jews today they reject the present truth in our church. The churches are sleeping and its dead. We need John the baptists and elijahs to give a final warning to come out of this spiritual fornication

Tuesday August 12th, 2014 at 07:03 AMI agree Gloria, but the good news is the church only appears to fall it won’t and soon those who have left God’s side and are wondering after the beast will leave and those from the outside who are searching will come in. It is difficult for me to go to church these days as I see what is happening and I get upset with it but then I remember who is in charge and what He says will happen and I am at peace. It is indeed sad to see it however. We have to keep our eyes on Jesus

Tuesday August 12th, 2014 at 01:30 PMIf you are referring to an organizational structure in defining church, it would be hard for any structure to survive the no-buy, no sell law, unless it is in full-on apostasy. But if you are referring to the church as the people, particularly those who are not sifted out of the message during the shaking, then the church would go through. Pr. Mayer

Friday April 18th, 2014 at 04:53 AMPastor it seems that the time is end. Prophecy is being sleeping. In our times the SDA church is not sleeping right now its Dead!!! Its our duty that we need to wake up the church and give warning to the Church.

Thursday April 24th, 2014 at 08:06 PMSalvation & condemnation is individual, all the things we witness nowadays whether it is good or bad those are prophesied already & it is written in the Bible. We know the truth, we just need to ask Jesus & the Holy Spirit to guide us all the time for the rest of our lives & keep us all from departing from His good example. Pray unceasingly for LOVE, WISDOM & Strength for Total Obedience to the will of God!!!

Monday May 5th, 2014 at 11:36 AMThe testing truths are being attacked at every turn. Our church is called by the word of God to call the other churches out of their sinful ways. How can we do this if we are pressing forward to join them in their “heaven-hating” sins. The out pouring of the Holy Spirit must come and renew our hearts to seek revival and reformation. Only then is it possible for us to “call” anyone out of their allegiance to Rome.

Saturday May 17th, 2014 at 05:39 AMWe know that we are in the end times. I wonder how many of the principles of God they are violating. Are they sacrificing the beliefs ofthe church to reach common ground. Where the is powerless she just waits for the right time to spring the trap. And the whole world {maybe even some of the seventh day adventist church members will wonder after the beast}. God be merciful.

Thursday August 7th, 2014 at 09:22 PM“Unity” is what the Godhead refers to time after time. Without “Unity” there can’t be order. Every religious organisation, so called Christians, have there own idea(s) of expression their belief, they all believe in ONE God but have there own way(s) of instruction/expression, all to the contrary of God’s Word “The Bible”.
If in The Army, there is no unity, the soldiers are doomed. Discipline always is the highest demand. Should anyone in the army, irrespective of rank, break this discipline, he/she will be severely punished.
This also will happen in God’s Army. No Unity equals No Discipline, Daniel and revelation speak about this. Hence SDAers, stand your ground!!

Saturday August 9th, 2014 at 08:04 AMWe have a short time left to sound the trumpet in Zion. I wonder can these dead bones live in our church once more.
Ben
Wednesday June 10th, 2015 at 11:21 PMSpeaking of dead bones Kenneth; I’m reminded of Ezekiel 37:2-4.
“And He [God] led me around among them [valley of dry bones], and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’ Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’”
When Ezekiel says “…and behold, they were very dry.”, it seems like there was no hope for them, but Ezekiel knows God better than that 🙂

Sunday March 20th, 2016 at 08:43 AMThe REAL SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS SHOULD STAND UP AND SOUND THE LOUD CRY AND WARN THE CHURCH ABOUT ABOMINABLE THINGS THAT IS GOING ON IN OUR BELOVED CHURCH.
MUST WE BE SILENT?
Rowena Youngflesh
Wednesday February 14th, 2018 at 08:53 AMAre we really shocked to see such abominations? When the church has Jesuits in the General Conference & leaders bowing down to the Vatican and giving medals/honors to the beast power . . . well, can we really be surprised to see such abominations?
Keep in mind people, when these things happen and you say nothing to the church/conference leadership you WILL be held accountable. If you sit silently in the presence of such men you WILL be held accountable. If you allow yourselves and your family to sit at their feet and learn their ways & be taught of in in any many, well . . . you WILL be partaking of their sins and you WILL be held accountable. Mark my God’s words & the pen of inspiration, YOU’ve been warned.

Thursday February 15th, 2018 at 02:10 PMRowena, while it is entirely possible that there are Jesuits in the General Conference, do you have evidence that you can provide? It is vitally important to document what we say. While many things can’t be documented, yet they exist. But one can’t make sweeping claims without evidence and expect to be credible. At Keep the Faith, we report on things we can document that fulfill prophecy. But to just rant about it isn’t credible. –Admin.
