Massive Hail Storms Hits Texas and other States

Thursday April 21st, 2016
Print This Post Print This Post

Massive hailstones the size of baseballs fell on parts of Texas shattering windows and damaging roofs as severe weather moved across the Southern Plains in the US. The storms shattered windows and mangled blinds as the gigantic hailstones crashed through homes and into living rooms and kitchens.

Also, one person died after losing control of her car and crashing into a group of trees in Arkansas during wet conditions brought on by the sever weather.

One driver in North Texas, Sara Correa, was caught in the storm. Traveling with her husband Adrian and her 8-month-old daughter Addison in the back seat. Sara and her family “endured several scary moments as hail blasted through the [car’s] windows.”

“The back window was just completely shattered through. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through,” said Sara. Addison suffered minor injuries. “She’s getting pelted with hail and glass, and there’s nothing you can do about it,” her husband Adrian Correa added.

All over the region, cars and homes suffered similar damage from the relentless hail. “If there was a Cat[egory] 4 or 5 or EF4 or 5 equivalent for hail damage, the damage in Wylie, Texas… would be it.” said meteorologist Bryan Wood. Schools in Wylie were closed while assessments and repairs were made.

A huge church fire in Arkansas was believed to have been cause by lightening. The fire was one of several fires started in Union County by the storms, including an oil-processing tank. A tornado was responsible for some falling tree damage in Miller County, as well.

Another storm dumped massive amounts of hail in southeastern, Oklahoma, some of it dangerously large. In Atoka (population 3,000), the hail was the size of baseballs.

While the hail in Texas and Oklahoma is very small compared to the size of the hail that will fall during the final plagues the size of a talent (75lb balls of ice), it nevertheless gives us pause to consider what kind of damage hail will do in a violent storm. It also reminds us that we are near the end, and it is in the mercy of God that the hail in Texas and Oklahoma wasn’t larger.

“And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.” Revelation 16:21

    Interesting incident but poor reporting.
    No dates whatsoever.

We were not reporting. All the facts are in the original article linked at the bottom of the briefing for those who want to read them. We focus on the prophetic point. But we could have put in a date. So, the point is well taken.
