Pope Francis received Andry Nirina Rajoelina, president of the High Transitional Authority of Madagascar in audience at the Vatican. The president also met with Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States.
The cordial talks, focused on the good relations that exist between the Holy See and Madagascar. The pope and president also spoke on Madagascar’s efforts for stability and democracy, economic development and reconstruction of international relations.
Those headings could include a mass of other issues that a bland Vatican communiqué would disguise. Reconstruction of international relations would include matters of geopolitical importance.
The pope highlighted the Catholic Church’s efforts in health and education, which the Vatican uses to strengthen her relationships with nations.
