Daily Caller, by Kaylee Greenlee: The FBI ran nearly 8 million background checks for gun purchases from March to June, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Background checks for firearm purchases in June reached 7.8 million, up 136% from last year. Checks for civilians pursuing a license to carry were the highest recorded in the last 20 years, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the WSJ reported.
“With the pandemic, it’s driven more by fear for personal safety; it’s people who haven’t been interested in the past,” Jacquelyn Clark, Bristlecone Shooting, Training, Retail Center and Gun Range co-owner, told the WSJ.
The sales of handguns used for personal protection have increased, with nearly two handguns sold for every rifle or shotgun, according to federal data, the WSJ reported.
Individuals previously critical of firearm ownership are among the surge of new buyers, the WSJ reported. A survey done by the National Shooting Sports Foundation found dealers project around 40% of sales are to first-time buyers, an increase from the normal average.
Our Comment:
Gun sales are a harbinger of the general violence at the end of time, but especially toward God’s remnant people.
Prophetic Link:
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” Genesis 6:11.
“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” Luke 17:26.

Monday August 3rd, 2020 at 08:33 AMPeople want to protect themselves from harm, and in the USA there is certainly no more effective means to ensure that than to have a firearm and know how to properly use it.
Even people who were generally philosophically opposed to guns and firearm ownership, have reconsidered their positions this year and purchased their first firearm, and a good portion of those first-time buyers went and received professional training in basic firearm handling.
God gave us life, and this gift from Him is worth defending. Whatever your feelings about firearms, pro or con, we all have a Right to live. A Right that is inherent in us because we are made in His image.
