Amid mounting evidence that the Obama Administration is supporting the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, World Net Daily’s sources have reported that the Egyptian government will prosecute Brotherhood leaders as traitors for accepting huge bribes from the (now deposed) Morsi government. The money was allegedly provided directly by the U.S. government through its embassy in Egypt. Some of the bribes were as high as $850,000 U.S. dollars per year.
A key official document obtained from the Egyptian government shows the signatures of Muslim Brotherhood leaders for monthly “gifts” in USD paid to them by Morsi officials. The document corresponds with other Egyptian news reports about alleged bribes paid by the U.S. Embassy through the Morsi government.
The government filed a complaint, which listed the Muslim Brotherhood leaders that received the money. It also filed complaints concerning a whole list of crimes including “murders and assassinations, prison escapes, sniping at and the indiscriminate killing of demonstrators, and spying or being a double-agent collaborating with foreign governments, including both the U.S. and Qatar.” At least some of the charges carry the death penalty.
The Obama administration has “bent over backwards” to resist the temptation to call the military takeover of Egypt a coup, and has not said much about the deaths of over 1,100 civilians in recent clashes. “Yet Egyptians remain convinced that President Obama is backing the Muslim Brotherhood and deposed President Mohamed Morsi.”
“America is losing Egypt…” said Mohamed Abou El-Ghar, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party. “There is a very strong perception that they are supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and they are against other parties,” he said.
Prior to Morsi’s election, U.S. Senator John McCain met with members of the Muslim Brotherhood but not representatives of competing parties. The news headlines at the time said that the U.S. was warming to the Brotherhood. The U.S. also criticized the military for deposing Morsi, deferred delivery of F-16 fighter jets, and reviewed its aid to Cairo, all suggesting support for Morsi and the Brotherhood.
“The latest evidence of Obama’s purported proclivity towards the Brotherhood” came in the form of a State Department briefing, which called for the release of Morsi who is accused of many serious crimes.
The conspiracy between the United States and the Muslim Brotherhood to destroy Egypt is a hot topic of political conversation on the streets of Cairo. The widespread opinion that the U.S. has paid off the Brotherhood is fueling considerable hatred for America and its western affiliates. The Brotherhood is associated with Al Qaeda, and accusations abound that America has join the terrorists.
Mr. Obama has taken a lot of criticism for not cutting off aid to Egypt after the military crackdown killed more than 1,100 people. But the murky underworld of politics in Egypt has many convinced that the U.S. is using the Muslim Brotherhood for its own purposes, which don’t bode well for the future of Egypt.
“Eternal things are dropped out of the reckoning of men. A power from beneath is stirring the minds of men, and causing them to act with intense energy. Betting, the giving of bribes and rewards, runs higher and higher, and a panic, little short of madness, seems to actuate the lovers of pleasure.” Review and Herald, March 6, 1894
“The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.” Isaiah 33:14-16
