Radishes are an edible root and are used in many cuisines around the world. They contain a high level of essential vitamins and minerals including potassium, vitamin C, folate, fiber, manganese, copper, magnesium, calcium, vitamin B6, riboflavin and sodium.
They have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.
Radishes contain glucosinolates, which may help protect you from cancer by protecting your cells from genetic mutations that cause cancer. They may also help your body eliminate cancerous cells before they can start to form a tumor.
Radishes also have lots of vitamin C, which helps control blood cholesterol levels, strengthens blood vessel walls, and turns fat into usable energy. They also contain fiber which helps regulate blood sugar and cholesterol and helps prevent constipation.
Because of their potassium content, radishes also can help lower blood pressure.
So, enjoy radishes as part of your plant-based diet.
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” Genesis 1:29
