Pope Francis meets Privately with Leonardo DiCaprio

Tuesday February 16th, 2016

Famous movie star Leonardo DiCaprio, (the star of the movie The Titanic, among other worldly flicks), met with Pope Francis to discuss climate change. DiCaprio has been involved in “green initiatives,” for a long time. He even launched a foundation for supporting sustainability efforts in 1998.

The pope, who has openly campaigned against the free market, fossil fuel driven economy, has made climate change a cornerstone of his pontificate, and though meeting with a movie star like DiCaprio is unusual, it nevertheless gives the pope more street credibility with the people.

DiCaprio greeted the pope in Italian saying, “Your Holiness, thank you for granting me this private audience with you.” He also gave the pope a book by the 15th century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. The book contained a work by Bosch called “Garden of Earthly Delights” which DiCaprio revealed was hanging over his crib as a child. He told Francis he believed the book represented the current state of the environment, as it features three panels, one with Adam and Eve, one with a blossoming landscape, and the third being a depiction of hell.

The pope’s climate change campaign has drawn all sorts of individuals for various reasons to Rome in support.

“And all the world,” including DiCaprio, “wondered after the beast.”

Oh, I thought he was going to have personal confession with pope regarding calling on evil spirits to help him with acting out movie characters… But remembered that neither one of them actually considers that sinful…yes, ” the whole world wonders…’
