CEDIC, by MIM Silva: On September 3, 2025, the “Religions for Inclusion” meeting was held at the Universidad Iberoamericana (CDMEX) facilities. This event brought together various religious leaders: the Roman Catholic Church (CEM, CIRM), the Russian Orthodox Church, the Orthodox Church of Antioch, the Anglican Church, the Reformed Church, the Covenant Church, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Old Catholic Church, and Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Scientology communities. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the current situation in the country and the world, share experiences, coordinate joint actions, and advance the organization of the Interreligious Forum for Peace.
The day began with a fraternal gathering, which fostered closeness and dialogue among the participants. Afterward, Tania Galván, IBERO’s Director of Outreach, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of creating spaces for meeting and reflection.
During the session, previous agreements were followed up on, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining an ongoing and cohesive dialogue among the various faith communities.
One of the most significant moments was the lecture by Dr. Marisol Ochoa, an academic specializing in violence and crime studies, entitled “Grief, Pain, and Loss.” Her presentation invited reflection on the violence affecting the country, addressing the reality of those who, due to adverse living conditions, find themselves immersed in crime.
Likewise, Jorge Lee Galindo presented the Comprehensive Consultancy on Religious Affairs (CIAR), offering advice and tools to religious associations to facilitate the institutional formalization of RAs.
Finally, Ignacio Cuevas welcomed the Catholic priest, Father Mario Escalera Villanueva, Secretary of the Commission for Interreligious Dialogue of the Catholic Church (CEDIC), with special thanks, recognizing his accompaniment and commitment to building peace. The priest also thanked the invitation and offered his friendship to all those present.
This meeting represents an important step toward unity, inclusion, and interfaith collaboration, leading up to the Interfaith Forum for Peace.
Our Comment:
While the following statement is referring to the United States, ecumenical meetings are conducted is other places as well.
Prophetic Link:
“When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result.” Great Controversy, 445.1

Wednesday October 8th, 2025 at 02:45 PMI wonder why the SDA church is attending & participating in these ecumenical conferences. Are we not called by God to be separate from the world? I find this trend disturbing because this is far from the only time in recent decades where the General Conference leadership has openly acted contrary to the counsels of Ellen White.
A good example of why this bothers me lies in the the church administration at the union and division levels, even state conferences, in obeying government dicta during the covid era, shuttering our churches unnecessarily.
