Marijuana is now legal in Oregon, Alaska and Washington, DC. Voters approved sweeping pro-marijuana legislation that legalized possession, manufacture and sale of the drug. California, Massachusetts, Maine, Nevada and Arizona are also likely to let voters decide. Like in Colorado and Washington State, Oregon and Alaska’s new laws create a commercial regulatory system for production, distribution and sale of marijuana.
Washington, DC only permits those 21 years old and older to possess up to 2 ounces for personal use and to grow up to six cannabis plants in their homes. The DC law only allows people to transfer up to 1 ounce to another person, but not sell it.
The win in Washington, DC has advocates hoping for federal recognition.
“Intemperance is widespread. How much man’s senses are perverted by intoxicating drugs it is impossible to say.” Evangelism, page 529

Friday December 12th, 2014 at 11:51 PMI have been wanting to let you know that I believe you mean marijuana is legal in Washington State, not Washington DC. I live in Washington State and it has become legal here and Colorado. I hadn’t heard about Alaska. Even though it is legal in Washington State and Oregon, it is still a federal offence so I doubt that its legal in DC.
