King Letsie III of Lesotho and his wife, Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso met with Pope Francis in Rome. They discussed the collaboration between the state and the church in Lesotho especially with regard to religious freedom, the political and economic situation in the tiny country.
The royal pair also met with Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican Secretary of State, an Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States. Discussion included acknowledgement of the “contribution” of the Catholic Church in the fields of charity, justice and peace.
