Testimony
“Pastor Mayer, your CDs are tremendous,” said the caller on the other end of the phone line. Gavin called me all the way from South Australia to tell me something important. “I have shared them with a non-SDA man who has a radio program once a week. He loves them. He thinks they are spot on,” said Gavin. “Would you ring him and talk to him,” he asked. I told Gavin that I certainly would. “Maybe he would like to have you on his program,” continued Gavin. “You have a way with presenting the important things going on in the world.”
That’s what its all about! Reaching souls with God’s message. Maybe this will open up opportunities to talk on the radio when Pastor Mayer is in South Australia next, and perhaps promote Amaroo Water Gardens. “I’m looking forward to meeting a new friend,” says Pastor Mayer.
Highwood Spirit
As you may know, Highwood has been conducting health talks and Bible studies in Melbourne and Lilydale every second week. Lilydale is halfway between Highwood and Melbourne. Two precious young people, Matt (27) and Emily (30) came to the health talk at the Melbourne library recently. They were from two different places where Stine and Sarah, another staff member, had put invitations in mail boxes. The lecture ended up being more of a discussion, which was very friendly and bonding.
Two weeks later both Matt and Emily returned to the study. This time they both stayed for the spiritual study as well as the health study. They both took a copy of “Path to Peace” (Steps to Christ), and said they would like to come again next time. God is working on them… Please pray for Matt and Emily.
That night Stine also met another man at the library who was returning books. She invited him to join them. He accepted the invitation. He also wanted information about Highwood because he has some health problems. God is at work on him too, isn’t he?
“We have not heard it that way before,” said a Lutheran couple that attended the Lilydale health and spiritual lectures the following night. The woman had been a guest at Highwood and was willing to make a few recipes for a light meal. She also brought her husband along to the meeting. They both enjoyed the health and spiritual study and said the things that Stine shared gave them a new way to understand the things of God. The following week, they both returned. They brought delicious vegan food again for a light supper. The wife is very interested in the Bible and they both hope to attend the study every two weeks. We pray that they both will open their hearts to God’s truth.
And to the pleasant surprise of our team, an 18-year-old woman turned up to the meeting in Lilydale. She had some body piercing, so they were surprised when she said she was a Christian. She had decided to become a vegetarian when she was a small child and thought the health talk was very interesting.
At the end of November, Highwood Health Retreat will be doing renovations again. This time it’s the kitchen and dining room that get a redesign and makeover. Also, we’re planning to add bathrooms to all the rest of the bedrooms, God willing.
Amaroo Water Gardens
“I am in awe!” says Pastor Mayer. “Over the last eight months, I have watched God pushing us urgently to start a health retreat near Adelaide, South Australia.”
Things have happened so fast, that it’s like God has taken the reigns in His own hands. He has provided an onsite doctor and a few other staff, a bridge loan from “friends of the enterprise” to get started, a reduced price for a beautiful and quiet retreat, and has even organized most of the furnishings so our team can start very quickly as soon as we have the approval of local authorities.
Go to our website at Ktfnews.com and read the inspiring story of what God has done. You’ll find a link to Amaroo Water Gardens toward the bottom. Check often for updates. You’ll be impressed by God’s amazing providences. One thing after another has pointed to this important development. “We’re just hanging on as God opens the way very rapidly,” says Pastor Mayer. “All it takes is willing hearts.”
We must still trust the Lord for start up finances to pay off the bridge loan, and for Him to work through the approvals from the local authorities.
As most of you know, we do not ask for funds very often at Keep the Faith. In fact we rarely do. However, this is very important to God’s cause! We are having settlement on the property on the 25th of November, and Amaroo Water Gardens needs your support.
We are praying for 5000 people who will make a gift of at least $100. We are also praying for 1000 people who will make a gift of $500 or more. And lastly, we are praying for 500 people who will make a gift of at least $1000. Please pray about what you can do to come to the help of the Lord. I believe if all of our Keep the Faith listeners and partners do as much as they can, we can organize this important work for the Lord. Perhaps you have it in your heart to help with this inspiring project. If you can make a special gift for Amaroo, maybe you could make it before the 25th of November, but if not, perhaps by the end of the year. That way we can minimize the need for a bridge loan and have the resources for a few renovations and start up costs.
When God tells us to move forward, sometimes He really moves rapidly. Perhaps He is telling us that time is short, and there are souls that could be won if we start a second health retreat near the beautiful city of Adelaide in South Australia. If you can help with a sacrificial gift, your support would be most appreciated.

Milk May Contribute to Aging
Milk has long been promoted as bone-strengthening. But a new study suggests that milk doesn’t appear to protect against bone fracture and may actually lead to increased mortality.
In the new study, published in BMJ, researchers studied dairy consumption on more than 100,000 people in Sweden. They found that high milk intake was associated with higher mortality in both men and women. They also showed that bone fractures were higher in women.
Though the new study was observational and not designed to show that milk is a cause of increased mortality, yet it questions the validity of conventional wisdom.
The authors of the study suggest that lactose and galactose in milk may cause inflammation in bones that resembles aging, leading to factures. Supplementing with galactose in animals showed increased aging processes like inflammation and oxidative stress.
The study data also shows a correlation between reduced fractures and low-lactose milk consumption.
Now that there are very good alternatives to milk, has the time come to remove it from your diet?
There is no safety in the eating of the flesh of dead animals, and in a short time the milk of the cows will also be excluded from the diet of God’s commandment-keeping people. In a short time it will not be safe to use anything that comes from the animal creation. Those who take God at His word, and obey His commandments with the whole heart, will be blessed. He will be their shield of protection. But the Lord will not be trifled with. Distrust, disobedience, alienation from God’s will and way, will place the sinner in a position where the Lord cannot give him His divine favor. . . . Counsels on Diet and Foods, page 411.
