Schools in London are among a number across the UK which have received threatening emails on March 28 warning that children will be mowed down by a car. Scotland Yard confirmed that schools in London are affected, while those in Durham, Cambridgeshire, Devon and Cornwall, the West Midlands and Northumbria have also received the messages. Police said the emails are being treated as a hoax but it is believed that some schools are keeping children inside.
Terrified parents from across the country told of their horror after an email was sent to schools warning that their children would be mown down by a car and shot.
The email says that a car will drive into “as many students as possible” as they leave school at 3:15pm. It adds: “If you try and evacuate them the driver will get out and shoot any student leaving. You have a choice here, you can ignore this email and risk the lives of the students you say you care for, or you can listen to what we are telling you. The only way out is to go out with a BANG.”
One concerned grandmother usually picks up her grandsons from Burnopfield Primary School in County Durham at about 3pm. However, today she received a panicked phone call from her daughter-in-law about an hour earlier telling her to head to school immediately.
Susannah Carr said: “When I drove up to school I noticed a stream of parents arriving. Everyone was sort of half walking, running and had anxious faces.
“I asked a girl at the gates if she had heard anything. Mothers were running past me by then and she said apparently there had been an email sent to the school warning of a threat to harm the children later that afternoon.
“Well I just felt frantic and rushed round to get them… I collected the boys and left as quickly as possible. It was horrible. In this day and age you can’t ignore threats.”
“Concerned parent Kerri Chamberlain wrote on Twitter: ‘I’ve never really understood just how scary it is to get a message from your child’s school saying they are evacuating due to a safety threat. Emails to schools saying that they are going to harm children is NEVER EVER ok! Hoax or not it doesn’t matter!!!”
Another parent, from Plymouth, added: “What kind of sick individual threatens to mow down kids as they are leaving school & shoot them if leave school early. I feel physically sick and I want my boy home safe. He’s 6 years old and shouldn’t be scared like this. What’s the world coming too!”
Lee Maggs, from Sittingbourne, said: “Never been so scared or worried in my whole life! Who calls in a hoax bomb threat at a primary school?”
Another parent tweeted: “My son’s school is on lockdown. What kind of sick individual threatens to mow down kids as they are leaving school & shoot them if leave school early. I feel physically sick & I want my boy home safe. He’s 6 years old & shouldn’t be scared like this. What’s the world coming too!”
Indeed, what is this world coming to? It’s coming to its end. It is out of control. And the more society crumbles, the more out of control it becomes. There is no stopping this process until the coming of Christ.
Police forces across the country have reported similar emails to schools. “Enquiries are continuing to establish the facts and forces are working together to investigate the threat and who is responsible,” said the London Police. And as they look for the perps, families are terrified for what might happen to their children.
“The threatening tweets [came] just days after more than 400 UK schools were emailed a bomb threat causing evacuations up and down the country.”
“And there shall be… upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:25, 26.
