Idaho ‘Christian’ University Caught Pushing Pro-Transgender Books onto Students

Slay News, by David Lindfield: Parents who chose Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) in Nampa, Idaho, believed they were sending their children to a Christ-centered institution grounded in biblical truth, moral clarity, and traditional values.

But that trust has been shaken.

State Senator Brian Lenney recently posted images on X showing explicitly pro-transgender literature displayed prominently on campus.

“So… Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho has all this on display…” Lenney wrote alongside images of the books.

“While BSU closes down their DEI centers, NNU doubles down on woke.”

For Christian families who chose NNU for its faith-based mission, this embrace of ideologies at odds with Scripture feels like a stunning betrayal of trust.

In a follow-up post, Lenney added:

“It also appears to be in conflict with you know… The Bible.”

For many Christian families, the sight of materials that seemingly contradict Scripture’s clear teachings on gender and sexuality felt like a gut punch.

Lenney went further, pointing out the obvious conflict with the Bible, citing Genesis 1:27, where God created male and female — distinct, intentional, and sacred.

Historically, NNU has been regarded as a safe haven for families seeking a Christian education grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

But these recent revelations suggest that the university may be succumbing to cultural pressures rather than standing firm on eternal truths.

The concern isn’t limited to a few books on a shelf.

Parents now wonder what else is being taught in the classroom.

Many are questioning whether the school’s environment is shaped by Christian discipleship or by the world’s ideologies.

Concerns are being raised as to whether campus leaders are quietly redefining what it means to be a “Christian university.”

Young adults, many leaving home for the first time, look to their university for guidance.

But instead of encountering biblical truth, they’re now being exposed to ideologies that normalize what Scripture calls sin.

Though NNU is a private institution, it still benefits from federal programs, including Pell Grants and student loans — funded by American taxpayers, many of whom hold deeply Christian beliefs.

This raises a troubling question for Christian conservatives:

Should taxpayer-supported programs help fund an institution that appears to be drifting from its biblical foundation?

Parents aren’t just frustrated — they feel betrayed.

This incident isn’t just about one university.

It’s symbolic of a larger crisis within Christian academia.

Once-biblical institutions are now, in the eyes of many, caving to secular ideologies and losing sight of their God-given purpose.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 warns of a time when people “will not endure sound teaching… but will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”

For concerned families, this moment feels all too familiar.

The message from Christian parents is clear:

NNU must repent, return to its roots, and reject the “woke” ideology threatening its mission.

Until that happens, support from the faithful may begin to wane.

Trust, once broken, is not easily restored.

For the sake of its students and the integrity of Christian higher education, NNU must decide whom it serves: the culture or Christ.

Prophetic Link:
“For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.” Acts 20:29, 30.

Dreadful but not surprising. The indoctrination of youth into this illogical, sinful and literally insane ideology has spread across the country like a terrible pandemic, destroying anyone who falls for its lies. I don’t believe there is a cure for it once it takes hold. It’s like a psychological fentany. There’s no return once you start down the path of accepting so-called “transgenderism”. But there is a cure. It’ involves a radical change in one’s beliefs and character. It’s a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. That is an individuals only hope, for any of the issues we face today. For those of us who have not been infected with this thought disorder, we are to share God’s truth with all who will listen while there is still time. Blessings.
