In his first extensive interview since leaving the Trump administration, former White House chief strategist and Roman Catholic, Steve Bannon said the Obama-era DACA policy protects nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children from deportation.
When the interviewer Charlie Rose from CBS’s 60 Minutes, said “Can I remind you, a good Catholic, that Cardinal [Timothy] Dolan is opposed to what’s happened with DACA?” Bannon said, “The Catholic Church has been terrible about this… The bishops have been terrible about this. By the way, you know why? You know why? Because unable to really – to – to – to come to grips with the problems in the church, they need illegal aliens, they need illegal aliens to fill the churches. That’s – it’s obvious on the face of it. That’s [why] – the entire Catholic bishops condemn him… They have – they have an economic interest. They have an economic interest in unlimited immigration, unlimited illegal immigration…”
Rose responded, “Boy, that’s a tough thing to say about your church.”
Bannon answered, “As much as I respect Cardinal Dolan and the bishops on doctrine, this is not doctrine. This is not doctrine at all. I totally respect the pope and I totally respect the Catholic bishops and cardinals on doctrine. This is not about doctrine. This is about the sovereignty of a nation. And in that regard, they’re just another guy with an opinion.”
Bannon is being up front about the Catholic agenda. The Catholic Church would have a few more interests than members and money. They would also want votes from naturalized illegal immigrants and their children born in America. Those Catholic immigrants would help boost the political influence of the Catholic Church. Open illegal immigration is one of the ways the United States reaches across the gulf…
“The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hands across the gulf to grasp the hand of spiritualism; they will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power; and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience.” The Great Controversy, page 588.
