Advent Verlag, by APD: From July 9th to 11th, 2021, the Advent Youth, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Zeltplatz Friedensau gGmbH and the aid organization ADRA Deutschland e.V. will jointly organize the RETHINKING. Sustainability Camp.
According to the organizers, this sustainability camp wants to offer a meeting place for those interested and motivated, but also for those who are already well informed about sustainability. It is the plan that the participants …
… deal with the social and ecological aspects of sustainability,
… pick up ideas on how personal everyday life can be made more sustainable,
… discover ways in which the environment can be motivated for a just and sustainable way of life and
… share your own experiences and perspectives and be able to network with like-minded people.
With this sustainability camp, the organizers also want to address the issue of sustainability across generations and in an experience-oriented manner. Therefore, in addition to the thematic presentations and workshops, there will always be workshops especially for children, families and practitioners.
The Friedensau campsite – in the middle of the forest, with its cozy campfire evenings, a wide variety of overnight accommodation options (tent, guest house) and its environmental educational offer for children and families – offers the ideal ambience for the sustainability camp and at the same time allows the participation fees for vegetarian and largely vegetarian camps to keep sustainable full catering small.
Due to the corona situation, the sustainability camp is deliberately planned with a lower number of participants this year. That is why it makes perfect sense to register as quickly as possible. If the sustainability camp is canceled due to the corona, the fees would of course be reimbursed.
The event is funded by the Catholic Fund for universal church and development-related educational and public relations work. More information about the Sustainability Camp 2021: www.umhaben.camp.
Our Comment:
The Catholic Church is funding youth camps for SDA youth in Germany to promote Laudato Si. Will common cause with Roman Catholics lead the muting of the SDA prophetic voice?
Prophetic Link:
“The wide diversity of belief in the Protestant churches is regarded by many as decisive proof that no effort to secure a forced uniformity can ever be made. But there has been for years, in churches of the Protestant faith, a strong and growing sentiment in favor of a union based upon common points of doctrine. To secure such a union, the discussion of subjects upon which all were not agreed—however important they might be from a Bible standpoint—must necessarily be waived.” Great Controversy, page 444.2.
