The president of war-torn Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadére and his entourage, was granted an audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican on January 25. The Holy See says in a press release that it appreciates “the positive efforts made to restore political and institutional stability” in the country.
The Vatican also asked for collaboration between everyone in the nation, and the international community “to promote peaceful coexistence and national reconciliation.”
Some 600,000 people in the CAR have been forced to abandon their homes because the country is in the hands of armed groups who destroy everything in their path, ruthlessly torturing and killing, including children, the bishops said. “Boys and girls are exposed to all forms of violence, including sexual abuse and forced enlistment in armed groups.”
As the CAR is a nation in a tragic civil war, the Papacy presents itself as the reconciler and peacemaker. And while this may well be a legitimate effort, it nevertheless further enhances the image of the Vatican as the global peacemaker, and brining world leaders to Rome for advice and comfort.

Thursday February 1st, 2018 at 03:45 PMI think the point to note about African “guerilla wars” that use children and teenagers of the African soil, is the WEST ARMS AFRICAN BANDITRY, since Africans do not manufacture guns and other sophisticated(or going/gone out of fashion war weaponry and these Western countries need to dispose of their arms which they exchange(sell) for Africa’s resources extracted without any benefit to the country as they are extracted through these bandits) The catholic church and the UN have been involved and even accused of war funding genocides and even overseeing Genocides as in Rwanda where the Catholic Church had to apologise for playing a great role in the Genocide. Belgium is instrumental in the endless wars that go on in the COngo for the extraction of Rubber back then and today COntran for their computer industries. Africa wouldn never have these endless vicious wars if the Catholic church(miry clay) and Pagan Rome(Iron)in many guises but specifically as UN along with powerful aristocratic families like those in Belgium and Switzerland were not instrumenting the warfares by arming children and youths to fight their governments and extract resources for these foreign powers. I think a time has come when we in Africa KNOW the source of our Poverty, and warfares, the forced extraction of our resources from our continent by these European powers(Papal&Pagan) using the most excruciatingly vicious wars using children and the youth against governments.

I hope you spread the word amongst yourselves and seek God’s help in lightening your burden. Even as African leaders allow China to come and further pillage you. Claim God’s grace, you too are made in his image. Why should you be the bane of the earth forever.
