Saturday August 6th, 2016 at 11:43 PMI’m not sure what the real intend of this piece is or was, I do not see Mr. Trump deserving of any “credit” for his comments.
Perhaps it was an opportunity to rehearse the common and steady complaints against Muslims. Yes certain Middle Eastern people are characterized as being “warlike”.
But this only makes many if not most Evangelicals cry louder – “kill them all in the name of the Lord”! Is that what God would have us do now?
Being “wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove” should give some understanding as to HOW to deal with these people. Perhaps God allowed there to be such a people – for His own purposes. Perhaps not treating people by the “golden rule” has consequences. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
But instead, Western Cultures, especially so called Christians, love to mistreat these people, take there resources, meddle in there affairs and governance – killing thousands; then when there is retaliation, “foul is cried”.
