In case you are wondering what the attitude of homosexual activists is toward laws that defend freedom of religion, observe what is happening in Indiana. Activists have been pressing for a boycott of Indiana after the state enacted a “religious freedom” law that prohibits the state from forcing people to provide services contrary to their religious convictions. Homosexual activists say the law discriminates against homosexuals. Proponents say it does not discriminate and is merely protecting religious freedom. Other U.S. states are considering similar bills.
Activists are calling on businesses and groups to boycott Indiana. The National Collegiate Athletic Association, for instance, said it was “especially concerned” about how the law would affect its employees and student athletes. Some conventions, such as the GenCon, a convention for gamers and gaming have threatened to hold their meeting elsewhere. Salesforce, a California firm cancelled all employee travel to Indiana.
And executives such as Jeremy Stoppelman of Yelp and Tim Cook of Apple urged states not to follow Indiana’s example. Stoppelman argued in an open letter that such laws could hurt the broader economy in states that adopt them and also victimize consumers.
Indianapolis Mayer, Greg Ballard warned that the law could make the state unwelcoming. And Hillary Clinton said in a twitter post, “Sad this new Indiana law can happen in America today. We shouldn’t discriminate against people because of who they love.”
Indiana Governor Mike Pence defended signing the law saying it would “help protect churches, Christian businesses and individuals from those who want to punish them because of their Biblical beliefs.” Pence said he doesn’t believe the law is discriminatory.
Homosexual activists know that providing religious freedom exemptions from non-discrimination laws would jeopardize and limit their ability to impose their agenda on America. Homosexual advocates do not respect your freedom of religion. They want to silence any voice of dissent or reproof, just as the men of Sodom wanted to silence Lot.
And Lot said, “I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly… And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.” Genesis 19: 7, 9

Hedge of Protection Needed in these Last Days!
“God gave a clear and definite knowledge of his will to Israel by especial precepts, showing the duty of man to God and to his fellow-men. The worship due to God was clearly defined. A special system of rites and ceremonies was established, which would secure the remembrance of God among his people, and thereby serve as a hedge to guard and protect the ten commandments from violation.” {RH May 6, 1875, par. 3}
“The statutes concerning marriage, inheritance, and strict justice in deal with one another, were peculiar and contrary to the customs and manners of other nations, and were designed of Yah to keep his people separate from other nations. The necessity of this to preserve the people of God from becoming like the nations who had not the love and fear of God, is the same in this corrupt age, when the transgression of God’s law prevails and idolatry exists to a fearful extent. If ancient Israel needed such security, we need it more, to keep us from being utterly confounded with the transgressors of God’s law. The hearts of men are so prone to depart from God that there is a necessity for restraint and discipline.” {RH May 6, 1875, par. 6}
“In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. Christ gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern the everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the ten commandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of Christ. They were to be binding upon man in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the moral law, and they clearly and definitely explained that law.” {RH May 6, 1875, par. 10}
We should show them that the Old Testament is as verily the gospel in types and shadows as the New Testament is in its unfolding power. The New Testament does not present a new religion; the Old Testament does not present a religion to be superseded by the New. The New Testament is only the advancement and unfolding of the Old. {6T 392}
That God who walked with Enoch was our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was the light of the world then just as He is now. Those who lived then were not without teachers to instruct them in the path of life; for Noah and Enoch were Christians. The gospel is given in precept in Leviticus. Implicit obedience is required now, as then. How essential it is that we understand
the importance of this word! {6T 392.2}
