After the resignation of Justice Kennedy from the U.S. Supreme Court and the nomination of Justice Kavanaugh to take his place, the media elite went into melt down as fears of a rightward shift in the court dominated their commentary. One of their underlying concerns was that Ruth Bader Ginsberg who is now 85 might also resign.
The mainstream media breathed a “collective sigh of relief” when Justice Ginsburg told CNN that she plans to stay on the high court for at least another five years. “The coverage demonstrated how even the thought of Donald Trump naming the liberal justice’s replacement strikes terror into the hearts of reporters. “My senior colleague,” Ginsberg said, “Justice John Paul Stevens, stepped down when he was 90, so I think I have about at least five more years.’”
Liberal Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart hailed the news: “And all those cheers you hear, it’s coming from the Democratic Party and progressives who desperately want RBG to stay. One, because she is held in such high regard. But, two, if she leaves, that would cement President Trump’s hold and conservatives’ hold on the Supreme Court for generations far into the future.”
“I always joke that I sometimes envision or hope that Ruth Bader – Justice Ginsburg sleeps in bubble wrap,” walks around in bubble wrap, “he added, “because I want nothing to happen to her. And I think that’s a sentiment that a lot of people – a lot of people have.”
Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen said, “She survived two cancers, she can survive anything. She’s physically active, she’s mentally strong, she’s brilliant, we need her for at least two and a half years. I think she makes it and she serves America admirably.”
“The media love affair with Ginsberg has reached a whole new level of adulation in recent years, culminating with the fawning promotion of a new documentary about the liberal jurist a few months ago.”
The mainstream media’s fascination with Ginsberg is tenuous. If she has “survived” two cancers and is 85, anything can happen. If Mr. Trump gets another term, she will be 92 by the time it ends, should she continue on the bench. Should the court turn to the right under Justice Kavanaugh, Ginsberg’s place on the court will diminish in its influence.
A conservative court, even if textualist in its principles, will face overwhelming pressure, one day, to support worship laws. They will support the new world order religion just as they did in Daniel’s day.
“Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.” Daniel 3:2.
