The Anglican Church in New South Wales, Australia did not take disciplinary action against three alleged pedophile priests despite receiving reports they had abused children between the 1950s and 1970s. One of the priests was later convicted of indecent assault. “All three men were allowed to continue to publicly describe themselves as a priest and attend worship.”
The priests were alleged to have abused boys at the North Coast Children’s Home in Lismore.
Neither of the men was formally disciplined by the church over the alleged abuse. A royal commission is investigating the response of the church to the allegations.
