Primero debo ir a Moscú.
Daniel 8:25.

The Prophet Daniel, 2500 years ago, tells us why! Even so, the atrocities abound! Here is an apt distribution of the Russian – Ukraine conflict.
“Satan delights in war, for it excites the worst passions of the soul and then sweeps into eternity its victims steeped in vice and blood. It is his object to incite the nations to war against one another; for he can thus divert the minds of the people from the work of preparation to stand in the day of God.” – {CH 460.1}
While Daniel 2 tells us why Putin will never rule Europe, and the world will remain divided until Jesus comes, Daniel 11 can give us the origin of this conflict which is bigger than just another desperate dictator hungry for power and empire.
Daniel 2 speaks of mixing of church and state in the symbol of iron and clay. Iron is a metal, like gold, silver, and bronze representing political power. Clay represents God’s people, recall Daniel’s contemporary, Jeremiah, as he watched the clay in the hands of the potter. “Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.” (Jeremiah 18:5-6).
After the legalization and Christianity by Emperor Constantine in 313 AD and the outlawing of pagan religions by Emperor Theodosius in 392 AD, the church and state was firmly rooted in Roman society. After the break up of the Western Roman Empire by the Germanic Barbarian tribes, the Roman Bishop or Catholic Papacy strengthened its power through alliances with various Germanic tribes, chiefly France. Yet in the East, the Bishop of Constantinople retained his power with the Byzantine emperor. For over a thousand years, these two churches, using the power of the state, would vie back and forth for over all church power. One of the earliest disputes was over image worship or veneration. Opposed by the Eastern church, but mandated by the Roman Papacy. Eventually, image worship won out in the east. Another issue that was never rectified was leavened bread, used in the East, verses nonleavened bread, used by the Papacy, at communion. Other issues arose, but the most significant one involved the Nicene Creed. The original creed of 325 AD stated that the “Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father”. The Roman Catholic Church add the phrase, “and the son.” The Eastern Orthodox Churches refused to use the phrase, while the Roman Catholic Church insisted on it.
The Papacy took a bold step in gaining the upper hand over the East when he crowned Charlemagne empower of the Holy Roman Empire in 800 AD. This flew in the face of the Byzantine empire who still say themselves as the Roman Empire.
In 1054 AD, the Pope excommunicated the Bishop of Constantinople. This so infuriated the Eastern Church, they cut off all ties to the Roman Catholic Church. After the capture of Byzantine empire by the Ottoman Empire in 1454 AD, the Eastern Orthodox migrated to Eastern Europe.
It was not after the Catholic Vatican II council that the first out reach was taken to heal the schism. In 1964 Pope Paul VI meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagroras I of Constantinople in Jerusalem. Recent popes have worked earnestly to meet with their Orthodox separated brothers. It is reported that Pope Francis told Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill, “I’ll go wherever you want. You call me and I’ll go.» The two bishops meet in Havana Cuba in 2016.
While Pope Francis has been promoting peace, the Russian Patriarch has backed Putin’s war in Ukraine on the bases that this is a holy war against the immorality of the West. “Today there is a test for the loyalty to this new world order, a kind of pass to that ‘happy’ world, the world of excess consumption, the world of false ‘freedom,’ ” he said. “Do you know what this test is? The test is very simple and at the same time terrible — it is the gay pride parade.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/04/19/patriarch-kirill-orthodox-church-russia-ukraine/
The latest attempt for Pope Francis to meet with the Patriarch has failed. «I am sorry that the Vatican has had to cancel a second encounter with Patriarch Kirill, which we had scheduled for June in Jerusalem,” the Pope said. “But our diplomacy maintained that a meeting between us in this moment could lead to much confusion.»

Why is Pope Francis so focused on this issue of ending the Great Church Schism? Is he really just interested in world peace? The are deeper, prophetic roots to his desire for peace and safety in the world. Paul tells us that the end cannot come until it is said, While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3
The church differences in the Great Schism must be put aside in order for the Papacy to gain influence and power worldwide.
“He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. He shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt, and the Libyans and the Cushites shall follow in his train.” Daniel 11:42-43
Both the Eastern Orthodox and the Roman Catholic Churches have recovered from their wounds, the former inflicted by the Ottoman Empire in 1454, and the latter by France in 1798. Scripture is clear that the Roman Papacy will be the victor over the East. “One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast.”
Revelation 13:3.
So, when these two age old antagonists burry the hatchet, these rapid end-time events will take place in the world: Loud Cry, Message of Revelation 18, Satan impersonating Jesus, enormous natural disasters, end of religious liberty, Sunday laws, and finally a death decree.
Yet God’s true people have nothing to fear, “Here is a call for the endurance (patience) of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Revelation 14:12
“Therefore encourage one another with these words: For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:18,14-17.
