El activista de derechos religiosos, Dave Daubenmire, declaró en su transmisión «Pass The Salt Live» que Estados Unidos necesita «un cristianismo más agresivo». Mencionó al presidente Trump y a Greg Gianforte como ejemplos de hombres violentos que «caminan con autoridad».
«Lo único que va a salvar a la civilización occidental es un cristianismo más agresivo, más violento», dijo.
Reproduciendo un clip de la reciente cumbre de la OTAN en donde Trump aparta al primer ministro de Montenegro para ubicarse al frente del grupo de líderes reunidos, Daubenmire alabó a Trump por mostrar que «él es importante y tiene el control».
«Mírenlo», dijo Daubenmire alegremente mientras miraba el clip. «Son todos cachorritos, y nadie le ladra… Él camina con autoridad. Se ha ubicado al frente y en el centro del grupo. Y también todos lo saben. Simplemente les dio una lección a todos”.
Según Daubenmire, el comportamiento de Trump es un ejemplo a seguir por la iglesia. «El Señor nos está mostrando una imagen de la autoridad con la que deberíamos estar caminando».
Daubenmire entonces citó la «agresión» a un periodista por parte del congresista republicano Greg Gianforte el día antes de ganar una elección especial en Montana como otro ejemplo para la iglesia.
«La gente está harta y cansada de eso», dijo. «Están diciendo: ‘¡Sí, este es un luchador! ¡Vamos, amigo, vamos!… ‘»
«Ese debe ser el grito del corazón de los hombres cristianos», dijo Daubenmire.
«Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, el reino de los cielos sufre violencia, y los violentos lo arrebatan». Mateo 11:12.
