Donald Trump quiere que las iglesias tengan más poder y que los pastores puedan hablar con más valentía. De hecho, se ha comprometido a hacerlo si es elegido presidente. Trump expresó: «Ellos le han quitado una gran parte de poder a la iglesia. Quiero devolvérselo. Realmente, el cristianismo ha sido fragmentado; poco a poco está siendo eliminado… Quiero que los pastores y ministros sean capaces de ponerse de pie para defender el cristianismo». En este momento tienen miedo de hacerlo porque no quieren perder su estatus de exención de impuestos. Nosotros nos encargaremos de eso”.
Trump cree que el gobierno federal nunca debió haberle quitado el poder a la iglesia. Él se refiere a la enmienda Johnson, la cual modificó el código de impuestos de EE.UU. para que a las organizaciones exentas de impuestos (como las iglesias), no se les permita apoyar ni oponerse a los candidatos políticos.
«Frente al público, él puede lucir como una persona áspera al hablar sobre la frontera pero su narrativa es propia de una persona que hace las cosas», dijo David Brody del archivo CBN Brody. «Su marca lleva el sello de la realización, así que cuando él dice que va a ‘cuidar de los evangélicos’ y que va a comenzar a levantar nuevamente el cristianismo, muchos le creen a primera vista. Cuenta con una gran tarjeta de ‘triunfo’ [coincide con su apellido Trump el cual significa triunfo] en su bolsillo político.
«Yo soy cristiano. Soy protestante. Soy presbiteriano. Francamente creo que el cristianismo, y los cristianos no son tratados adecuadamente en nuestro país. El proyecto de ley aprobado durante la era de Lyndon Johnson es horrible porque observo que las iglesias tienen miedo de expresar su opinión abiertamente para no perder su estatus de exención de impuestos y veo que este es uno de los problemas. Conozco personas que me quieren apoyar pero tienen miedo de apoyar a alguien porque no quieren involucrarse en la política porque esencialmente se le ha quitado una gran parte del poder a la iglesia. Quiero devolverle el poder a la iglesia porque ella lo requiere. Realmente el cristianismo ha sido fragmentado; poco a poco está siendo eliminado”.
«Los dignatarios de la iglesia y del estado se unirán para hacer que todos honren el domingo, y para ello apelarán al cohecho, a la persuasión o a la fuerza. La falta de autoridad divina se suplirá con ordenanzas abrumadoras. La corrupción política está destruyendo el amor a la justicia y el respeto a la verdad; y hasta en los Estados Unidos de la libre América, se verá a los representantes del pueblo y a los legisladores tratar de asegurarse el favor público doblegándose a las exigencias populares por una ley que imponga la observancia del domingo. La libertad de conciencia que tantos sacrificios ha costado no será ya respetada. En el conflicto que está por estallar veremos realizarse las palabras del profeta: “Airóse el dragón contra la mujer, y se fue para hacer guerra contra el residuo de su simiente, los que guardan los mandamientos de Dios, y tienen el testimonio de Jesús. Si Donald Trump llega a ser elegido Presidente de los Estados Unidos, prepárese para ver el serio inicio del movimiento de la ley dominical final. El apoyo político alentará a las iglesias y muy rápidamente la imagen de los últimos tiempos de la bestia predicha en la Biblia podría desplegarse ante nuestros ojos exactamente tal como se predijo. Esto no debe causarnos risa. Los que se burlan y ridiculizan estas predicciones tendrán que enfrentarse sin preparación a la realidad.

The grassroots movement of Rev 13:14 is on the march, and Trump does fit it to a «T». We probably will know for sure very soon. This is so sobering to me.
