sexta, 5 de fevereiro de 2021 at 20:40I’m having a hard time seeing how leftist political suppression of competing political speech, and the systematic deplatforming and dehumanizing of conservatives translates into “Protestantism has already reached her hand across the gulf and grasped the hand of Rome.”
Leftist politicians, like Republicans, are largely CATHOLIC – not Protestant. This also has nothing to do with Rome, certainly not directly. However it is laying the foundation, along with leftist “cancel culture”, for the enforcement of Sunday laws. But again, the mainstream of Seventh-day Aventist thought is that somehow it’s the political Right that will bring about Sunday laws, and for the time being this is not the case. It’s leftist intolerance towards anything conservative that is paving the way.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The SDA church MUST GET AWAY FROM THE TENTS of left/right politics… in fact, JUST GET AWAY FROM POLITICAL THINKING ITSELF. Did Ellen White not counsel us to eschew this paradigm?? Sadly, I see a LOT of Adventists who spurn sister White’s counsels and embrace political social activism and wrap it with a false cloak of Christianity…
