The ecumenical movement marches forward as Pope Francis met with the heads of non-Catholic religious communities in Korea, just before his final mass in the country. The inter-faith meeting was held at the Catholic Myeong-dong Cathedral and included leaders of the Anglican, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Orthodox and Buddhist leaders.
“We must continue walking together”, Pope Francis told the ecumenical gathering, “walking with God and going forward together. Pray for me.”

Friday August 22nd, 2014 at 06:57 AMWhen we lived in Korea &visitd Buddhist temples I renember telling my wife that they were hauntingly Roman Catholic (in nature); with the incense, all the little Buddha statues around, the prayer beads, the chanting, the prayers, the candles & robes, etc.; having come from a R. C. bgrd.
I have to say though that I appreciated the attitudes of the worshipers. For example taking off their footwear before entering the temples, & so forth.
