Franklin Graham, son of famous Billy Graham has warned that America may be in decline, much like ancient Babylon 2,500 years ago, unless it turns back to God.
“What’s the writing on the wall for America? As a nation we are found lacking because of sin and disobedience to God’s Holy Word. We have not honored Him. If we don’t turn back to God, I fear that our end will be near,” Graham wrote on a Facebook post.
Comparing ancient Babylon with modern America, Graham said, “While they were partying, the hand of God appeared and wrote a message on the wall, terrifying everyone including King Belshazzar…” God judged their nation, “Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.” Graham’s point was that Belshazzar’s loss of his life and the kingdom that very night is a historical example of what will happen to America if it does not repent and turn back to God.
Graham has declared on his Decision America Tour that the U.S. is “being stripped of biblical heritage… Our country is going in the wrong direction. And I think some of the politicians that are running have tapped into the anger and the frustration in this country. And I want Christians to know that their vote does count and we’ve taken God out of government, schools and everything else and we need to get God back into it,” Graham said back in February, urging people to vote in the presidential elections.
“While the United States is focused on its own politics, the world is unraveling,” Graham said. “The danger signals are everywhere. Beheadings, rapes, murders, bombings are taking place every day across North Africa through the Middle East, all the way to the borders of India,” he said.
Religious teachers who call upon the nation to turn back to God are laying the groundwork for, and are aiming at Sunday observance. When they finally achieve their aim God’s true commandment-keeping people will be thrust into a time of trouble such as never was. Though the nation needs repentance and a turning toward God, it does not need Sunday observance, which is a violation of God’s law, enshrined in the laws of the land.
And then the great deceiver will persuade men that those who serve God are causing these evils. The class that has provoked the displeasure of Heaven will charge all their troubles upon those whose obedience to God’s commandments is a perpetual reproof to transgressors. It will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the Sunday sabbath; that this sin has brought calamities which will not cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced; and that those who present the claims of the fourth commandment, thus destroying reverence for Sunday, are troublers of the people, preventing their restoration to divine favor and temporal prosperity… As the wrath of the people shall be excited by false charges, they will pursue a course toward God’s ambassadors very similar to that which apostate Israel pursued toward Elijah. but God does not operate by arbitration, manipulation, and demanded worship…God operates by love. Satan operates by selfish means…let us stand by the Lord’s side no matter what. Let us reflect Him. God is Love
