Donnerstag, der 26. Januar 2017 at 18:21Yes, Interesting. Maybe nothing has happened to globalisation. Most nations of the world are more globalised now than they ever have been. International trade is essential for the standard model of economic growth to continue, (the killing of TPP has not put an end to international trade). Advanced communication enable ideas, scientific, social, religious and artistic to be advanced, discussed, collaborated on and progressed in a way that has not been possible previously and indeed seen with the exceptions of Babel and antediluvian society. Most teens, twenty somethings and thirty somethings in many countries around the world have been educated in such a way that globalisation seems like a good idea. Yes we are seeing some opposition to it now but the genie is out of the bottle and given that we are in the end times and time is likely short, globalisation may well have achieved what it needed to achieve in terms of forging the relationships, breaking down barriers and promoting/facilitating social change. If a spanner wasn’t thrown into the globalisation machinery wouldn’t it just keep growing? How would the prophetic picture of a religiously conservative America ever fit into a world where everyone is in love with globalisation? Once the baby boomers have gone, who would oppose it? Who would remember nationalism and patriotism? Perhaps what we are seeing now is another sign of how close we are to the end of things. Perhaps it’s now or never for America to attempt to get back its “glory days”. If this is the case, prophecy tells us that it will go too far and oppress religious liberty by cementing ties with the papacy thereby turning its back on the blessings of God, the very thing it now seems it is trying to avoid given the prominence of Christian influence close to the current US administration.
