If we limit free speech to not making fun of people based on beliefs that they use to establish moral authority over society, then we limit all of our abilities to protest unjust dictatorships, unjust ideas, unjust rules and laws and morals that may not be moral at all. Poking fun of religion is one way to express a dislike, a protest, and get people to critically think about what is being presented to them. The Pope is wrong. The same way if I believed that my morals were superior because the giant in Jack in the Bean stalk is surely real in my belief system (It isn’t, but let’s say it is), and that giant proclaims that anyone who uses seeds to make anything grow, mustn’t use the nourishing food that grows from such plants and trees or they will be punished, and they will be morally corrupt. And then I set up a building and invited people to worship the giant with me, and pressed forward towards our government and put pressure on them with money and the power of my self-proclaimed moral superiority, to change laws of the land that effect everyone, that limits how people can use seeds. Now. If we go with the Pope, that means nobody must dare speak up about it at all, question it in a way that will get people to think, to laugh and question, and see the ridiculousness of it all. That is dangerous. Don’t take away the power of free speech. It is a detriment to us all if we do that. It also says that if you become violent, then you can control how other people express themselves. Unless someone expresses themselves in a violent way, we shouldn’t limit one another. We can all learn, especially by people who have differing ideas and opinions to our own.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of our mouths. Lets follow piece with all men, so that they will know we have been with Jesus. A-men
