adventist.dk: In 2021, the Adventist Church’s Union Board established a working group to advise the board and make recommendations for improvements to the church’s work for LGBTQ+ people. As part of the task, the board has asked the working group to come up with a draft statement from the Danish Union on LGBTQ+. In December 2024, the working group presented a proposal for a statement, which the board has considered and processed. The church’s international general conference has various statements on both sexual orientation and gender identity. The Danish statement is not intended as a replacement for these, but an expression of how we, as a church in Denmark, can relate with care in the reality we encounter. With the statement, the board wants to confirm a biblical view of humanity, where all people have equal value regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The statement is an acknowledgement that the church has far from always lived up to its calling to treat all people with love and respect. The Adventist Church in Denmark continues to emphasize a biblical view of sexuality and relationships, recognizes the value and diversity of all individuals, and attempts to meet all people in a way that we believe Jesus would have done.
