  The terms „homophobia“ and „transphobia“ are defined as „an irrational fear, aversion, or prejudice against LGBTQI+ individuals, often manifesting as discrimination, harassment, or violence“. Homosexual and so-called transsexual people have the right to live their lives however they choose provided they cause no harm to anyone. That is my opinion. I personally have strong disinclination toward these particular lifestyles and regard them as sin. I must admit, I am a sinner also, fortunately, not in this area but I too have things that I have to deal with as we all do. I have decided to take the „Live and let live“ approach. Regarding homosexuality, there is no problem. Leave me alone and I’ll leave you alone. I can and have had friendships with gay people, no problem. They have a particular sexual preference and I can accept that, to a degree. But… the transsexual ideation is a different thing. That is not simply a personal preference but rather an ideological mutation, a form of delusional thinking, in essence a mental illness. Don’t expect me to accept the beliefs of a „transsexual“. My understanding of biology is what I was taught in school, that, in humans, there are typically only male and female genders. There are anomalous exceptions, those being birth disorders. They are not a separate or different gender and as a retired mental health professional I do not feed into the delusions of a sufferer. Now, were someone who suffers from this disorder, believing they were a sex or gender different from male and female, appear in the pews at church seeking help from Jesus/Christians, would I help them? Of course I would and I have. We are all sinners and if we admit that to ourselves and are willing to surrender fully to Jesus, He will welcome us with open arms. If however a person has settled into the delusional belief that they are a different gender or sex and are not willing to honestly look at themselves and make a change, I want nothing to do with you, just like I want nothing to do with an unrepentant career criminal or someone who practices another form of sexual deviance. This whole thing is just another tool of the devil and we need to pray for people suffering from this condition. Time is short, Jesus is coming soon and we need to share His truth with all who will listen.
