Samstag, der 23. März 2019 at 12:05This is what I see. The left is building up to the mother of all political backlashes. The pendulum swing will serve to utterly entrench the religious right in power. We know that the people will push on their leaders to „get the nation back to God.“ This is not something that will take place with the left in power.

Samstag, der 23. März 2019 at 18:29The rich young ruler asserted that he keep all of God’s commandments – when he did not. The religious right are no different but feel superior regardless of the subject matter – complete self-righteousness.
Never forget, it was the religious rulers that had Christ crucified.

Dienstag, der 9. April 2019 at 00:46I have always believed what is happening in America between the (generally Atheist) left and the (generally false Christian) right is exactly what is referred to in Dan 11 and 12.

Donnerstag, der 18. April 2019 at 15:00What is problematic about this assessment is the broad-brush equation of liberal politics with secularism. I fully agree that secularism is represented by the king of the south in Daniel 11, while the papacy and its apostate Protestant allies are represented by the king of the north. But to equate secularism with progressive politics is simply wrong, as many devout and practicing Christians support progressive political initiatives, including those initiatives which give citizens the right to make reproductive and sexual choices in harmony with their personal consciences, without interference from the state.

Freitag, der 19. April 2019 at 22:04It is not true that people should be permitted to do anything they want so long as their conscience permits it and so long as it does not damage anyone else. The government is charged with protecting principles found in the last six commandments by making laws that enforce those principles. The moral fall of the United States in regard to the last six commandments is foundational to its moral fall on the first four.

Samstag, der 20. April 2019 at 08:45We could argue your point about the moral jurisdiction of the non-theocratic state, but the point of my post is that many devout Christians adhere to progressive political principles. Whether or not they are right to do so is a separate issue. Where I must strongly object is with reference to the notion—widespread but fallacious—that political and theological liberalism, as well as political and theological conservatism, are ideological siblings.

Sonntag, der 21. April 2019 at 13:57No Seventh-day Adventist, especially pastors such as yourself, have the right before God to advocate abortion or LGBT+ lifestyle by advocating for, or supporting laws that legalize these things. This would be a Ten Commandment level moral evil that would lead to your own eternal ruin. As much as I appreciate and love you as a person, your support for moral and legal liberalism in unconscionable. As previously stated, the state is intended before God to legislate the last six commandments in harmony with His law. If they do not, God will judge them. Distracting the issue by fancy arguments will never justify support for these immoral practices. God’s people must advocate for morality in relation to the last six commandments.

Donnerstag, der 18. April 2019 at 19:50Will you please tell me Who „The (new) King“ is, who is introduced and described in Dan. 11:36-39, who the king of the north and the king of the south come against in verse 40 at the time of the end? This king is the one that the whole rest of the chapter is about. It seems to me that this king is the same one spoken about in Revelation 9.

Donnerstag, der 18. April 2019 at 22:45If Buttigieg is the nominee, the king of the north will be re-elected, which falls in line with your premise. I do believe we are watching prophecy being fulfilled!!!

Samstag, der 20. April 2019 at 08:51It might be wise in this conversation for us not to get into the pundit business so far as the upcoming U.S. presidential election is concerned. For myself, I tend to believe that the current presidential incumbent is doing substantial damage to the cause of the king of the north, from which the power thus represented might well be long recovering. That too may be in the divine plan, as the ultimate determiner of the timing of Jesus‘ coming is the spiritual readiness of God’s people. Looking at the condition of the church today, the Lord may well see fit to use various means to restrain the winds of strife, so that the servants of God might be sealed in their foreheads (Rev. 7:1-3).
It’s easy for us to get wrapped up in analyzing secular events and their significance for the coming crisis. They have their significance, most assuredly. But the most important consideration, according to the inspired pen, is the spiritual condition of God’s people.
