The U.S. Government is doing everything it can to help same-sex marriages become legal. Attorney General Eric Holder said that the government would provide federal benefits to same-sex marriages performed in Utah before the Supreme Court halted the practice. The state of Utah is appealing a court decision striking down Utah’s 2004 ban on same-sex marriage at the Supreme Court.
“I am confirming today that for purposes of federal law, these marriages will be recognized as lawful and considered eligible for all relevant federal benefits on the same terms as other same-sex marriages,” said Holder
Utah Gov. Gary Herbert said the state will not recognize the approximately 1,000 marriages that were performed between the December 20 ruling and the Supreme Court stay.
“The White House and Attorney General Holder are bringing some stability to the Utah couples and families who have had an emotional and legal roller coaster over the last several weeks,” said Wilson Cruz, a spokesman for GLAAD, an LGBT rights group.
The U.S. government’s brazen attempt to undermine Utah’s authority over marriage is another way in which it is promoting same-sex marriage. Jesus prophesied that this would happen in the last days and that the result will be the same.
