Thousands March in Jerusalem’s 12th Annual Gay Pride Parade

In scenes that would make the past inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah blush, the much-acclaimed “holy city” of Jerusalem held its pompous 12th annual gay pride parade. Hoisting signs and LGBT flags under the slogan “We want change,” over 3,000 people marched in colorful support through the streets once walked by Jesus and the apostles, who in contrast, went about changing lives instead of governments. The event included a march from Independence Park in the center of the city to the Knesset rose garden by the Israeli House of Parliament.

LGBT rights in Israel are considered the most progressive in the Middle East and Asia and it also has one of the highest percentages of support for same-sex marriage in the world (61%) among Israeli citizens. Though homosexuality between consenting adults is not illegal, full legal same-sex marriage has not yet been sanctioned. The current drive and its boisterous support makes approval of same-sex marriage by the sons of Abraham.

One man was arrested for lobbing a stink-bomb toward protesters against same-sex marriage. The man was arrested. Two women were also arrested for clashing with marchers. Hundreds of police and Border Guard officers accompanied the parade.

Leviticus 20:13 “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination…”

“Every year has its provocations. This parade is a great celebration, and we’re not concerned and will keep marching,” said a cheeky Oren First, 27, a participant in the parade, adding “The thousands marching here prove that we have a strong community which has made a long way in keeping its rights. The hate we witness shows we still have some way to go.”

“Pro-LGBT legislation is still rare” said Elinor Sidi, executive director of the Jerusalem Open House of Pride and Tolerance. “The elected officials refuse to address the issue of equality and let the High Court do their job for them… We in the LGBT community have had enough of talk and promises.”

Israel today is predominantly secular though many still practice Jewish tradition. The global surge in gay rights has Israel under pressure to turn its allegiance to the modern gods of progressivism, just as they did in Old Testament history under kings like Manasseh and Ahab.

See 2 Kings 21:9. No doubt the enemy rejoices to take the nation of Israel to the moral level of Sodom.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13

As it was in the days of Lot, Abraham’s nephew, “even thus shall it be when the Son of Man is revealed.” Luke 17:28-29
