Seventh-day Adventist Homes Destroyed in Chiapas

Chiapas, Mexico is known for its religious violence against non-Catholics. Now three Seventh-day Adventist member’s homes were destroyed in San Miguel Chiptip on March 16 allegedly because these families would not participate in the celebration of Holy Week. About 50 Roman Catholics, according to news sources, destroyed the homes made of block and wood.

The violence caused the Adventist families to flee their homes for fear of their lives, leaving their belongings of value behind and taking with them only that which they needed to survive. They had received death threats in the previous hours.

The families had to seek refuge and hide with some family and friends as the Catholics warned that if they returned home, men, women and children would be punished severely.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12.
