SDA Official on Administrative Leave from City Government

Eric Walsh, Public Health Director for the city of Pasadena, California, and a Seventh-day Adventist pastor, was put on paid administrative leave after homosexual activists’ contacted Pasadena city officials and complained that he had preached a sermon about the Bible’s teaching concerning homosexuality and evolution.

Walsh, associate pastor of the Altadena SDA Church, had been hired by the city of Pasadena as its health director in 2010. Walsh was also cancelled as the commencement speaker for Pasadena City College. City leaders are monitoring and analyzing Walsh’s online sermons. And the replacement speaker for the commencement address is a homosexual.

Opponents of the homosexual lifestyle are increasingly becoming the targets of religious discrimination by homosexual activists. Whether in public service or private businesses, homosexual activists have tried to intimidate those who disagree with them, and make sure that they do not remain in public office or have public exposure, or even remain in business. The gay rights movement does not tolerate biblical views that do not support their lifestyle.

Gay rights advocates don’t even appreciate those who have done important public efforts to assist with HIV/AIDs patients. Walsh oversaw the creation of a dental clinic that served low-income patients and those with HIV/AIDs who could not get care elsewhere.

The men of the city are gathering around Lot’s house and demanding that their opponents stand back and let them have their way.

“But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:..  And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.” Genesis 19:4, 9
