Rev. Graham Says Prayer Will Help Usher in Second Coming

CNSNews.com, by Michael W. Chapman: Commenting on how the secular media often mock prayer and prayers for the president, Rev. Franklin Graham said that such prayer is a plea for God’s blessing and for His help as America “faces an onslaught of immorality from godless, progressive liberalism” and “evil powers abroad.” He added that prayer will play a major role in the “Second Coming of the Savior as He establishes a new Heaven and a new Earth.”

This summer, after “calling on believers across our country to unite in prayer for President Donald Trump,” the responses from many in the “secular media” were not only negative but “quite inflammatory,” said Rev. Graham in September’s Decision magazine.

“Some accused me of using prayer for our president as a propaganda tool,” he said. “How ridiculous is that? Where were these critics when I urged prayer for President Obama in 2014 in the pages of this magazine?”

“Prayer for our president is a personal plea for the hand of God to bless, protect and strengthen our nation,” said Rev. Graham. “It’s a request for the guidance and help of Almighty God as our country faces an onslaught of immorality from godless, progressive liberalism within, and clear and present dangers from evil powers abroad.”

Whether the president is Democrat or Republican, “I don’t care,” said Rev. Graham. “He desperately needs God’s wisdom.”

The evangelical leader also said the prayers of God’s suffering people, “the cries of the martyrs” that seek justice will be answered in the End Days.

“So beware, all those who belittle the power and majesty of prayer,” he said. “It will be those exact prayers that will one [day] play a pivotal role in the Second Coming of the Savior as He establishes a new Heaven and a new Earth.”

Rev. Graham continued, “Fire cast down upon the Earth that burns one-third of the planet, and a mountain of fire that causes the oceans to become blood, and destroys one-third of all sea creatures, is mixed with the prayers of the saints.”

“Be careful of those who say they are tired of hearing ‘our thoughts and prayers are with you,'” he said. “There is nothing more comforting and strengthening than the prayers of God’s saints for those who suffer. God hears. God answers.”

Our Comment:
Franklin Graham is an evangelical leader who exerts significant influence on the president and the nation. Could he be one of the leaders to urge religious laws in order to get the nation back to God?

“The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak, it will reveal the spirit of the dragon. It is our duty to do all in our power to avert the threatened danger.” Testimonies for the Church, volume 5, page 452.
