The Queensland government has reduced the legal age for consensual anal sex in Queensland it has been brought into line with all other lawful sexual acts. This ends what is called “archaic” legislation against homosexuals. Even the term “sodomy” will be removed from the criminal law. Up until the new legislation was adopted, it was illegal to engage in anal sex until 18 years of age.
Queensland was the only state in Australia that had different consent ages for different consensual acts. The new legislation was brought in by the labour government. Health Minister Cameron Dick said that laws were needed to “correct an injustice” and “protect the health of young people.”
“By removing anachronistic value laden language and ensuring equality in the age of consent, the bill will not only improve sexual health outcomes, but also mental health outcomes for young Queenslanders.”
The argument in favor of the legislation suggests that high-risk behavior for the transmission of aids will not become known to practitioners if the patient thinks there will be legal consequences to his actions.
Of course the other side of that is that those who abstain from immoral sexual behavior will not normally get deadly diseases like AIDS.
Equality, Queensland citizens are told, requires equal access to health care. An unequal age of consent has been a barrier to equal access to sexual health services. Besides an unequal consent age has stigmatized LGBTIQ relationships and contributes to the isolation and loneliness of young LGBTIQ Queenslanders.
The LGBTIQ movement continues to push Australia and other nations into promoting their agendas in rebellion to God’s counsel.
