POTUS SHIELD Preparing to Reform America

“POTUS SHIELD” is a “council of Pentecostal prelates that assembled to raise up a ‘spiritual shield’ in Washington, D.C., prior to President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration.” The POTUS SHIELD is planning to “prepare the way for the shift in our nation!” POTUS is an acronym for the title “President of the United States.”

What shift are they referring to? First, it would obviously be a shift away from the secularization that has occurred under the Obama administration. But will they also work to unite religion and government? Most certainly! After all, Donald Trump made it very clear that he was going to remove restrictions and barriers to uniting church and state. These religious leaders are now working diligently to prevent the loss of political gains made during the election and the early days of the Trump administration.

“Blow The Trumpet & Sound The Alarm,” says their website, “to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see! We focused first on the Whitehouse, the Supreme Court and Capitol Hill.” But they will not stop there. They are continuing their plans since the inauguration. “Now, we are moving onto other assignments including state capitols and agencies.”

“There is council in the wisdom of many who have the Mind of Christ. This ‘Divine mindset’ sees beyond what is obvious or natural and discerns the Will of God as inspired by Holy Scripture that is revealed with fresh revelation.”

So, in other words, “a fresh revelation” refers to their understanding of government that is merely “inspired” by the Holy Scriptures, but not necessarily instructed by it in every detail. Their agenda will not necessarily be in harmony with every principle of Holy Scripture.

Keep in mind that Jesus our example did not work for political or social reform. “The government under which Jesus lived was corrupt and oppressive; on every hand were crying abuses,—extortion, intolerance, and grinding cruelty. Yet the Saviour attempted no civil reforms. He attacked no national abuses, nor condemned the national enemies. He did not interfere with the authority or administration of those in power. He who was our example kept aloof from earthly governments. Not because He was indifferent to the woes of men, but because the remedy did not lie in merely human and external measures. To be efficient, the cure must reach men individually, and must regenerate the heart.” Desire of Ages, page 509.

“As some of the faith leaders and prophets that first heard and declared the will of God for this election process, and specifically the breaker anointing upon Donald Trump to usher in a new era; we are now assembling to humbly invoke the voice of the Lord. We are prayerfully committed to see, to hear, to declare and decree, and to prepare the way for transformation, reformation and revival of our nation!”

“The POTUS SHIELD vision is dynamic,” continues the website. “In this state of change, we embrace that we are “transforming from Glory to Glory” (2 Cor. 3:18) and as such we yield to the sovereign omnipotence of God Almighty.”

These religious leaders are looking for earthly, political glory, just as the rabbis did in Jesus’ day. They want to control government in the favor of the religious principles they define. And many of the changes they will make will be quite good for America. But they aren’t likely to only bring America back to the balance of liberty to the extreme right. According to the prophecies of scripture, they will go beyond that and cause America to speak like the dragon.

“And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:14, 15.

“The Council is committed to yield to the Lord in all things,” continues the website. Is that really true? Are they really committed to yielding to the Lord in all things? Considering that these leaders are all Sunday-keeping, Sunday promoting individuals who are in fact breaking God’s law by their testimony and example, how can they be committed to yielding to the Lord in all things, particularly in this important point? God’s law enjoins the seventh-day Sabbath as His day of rest. Many of these leaders declare that the Law of God is not in force today, particularly in regard to the seventh day.

“In this spirit, the inaugural principals of Our Mission include:

“1. To assemble, structure and activate The POTUS Shield as a powerfully interactive spiritual, apostolic, prophetic force that acts and reacts in unity, with efficiency and expedience;

“2. To be a leadership forum that is inclusive and embraces the Bible believing Body of Christ, with a Kingdom heart to embrace the Body of Christ as One, even as prayed by our Lord as written in the Gospel of John, Chapter 17.

“3. To connect as an apostolic network exclusively assigned to the affirmation and reformation of The United States of America as ONE nation under GOD;

“4. To discern, declare, and decree the strategies of the Lord for our nation, with a special sensitivity to the three branches of the United States Government;

“5. To prepare the way and coordinate the simultaneous spiritual alignment of the Kingdom shift that is manifesting and impacting the government and the Church;

“6. To lay the foundation to convene in Philadelphia in March during Purim to declare a renewed covenant as the renewed United States of America, as one nation under God, and to commission and plan similar covenants in each of the 50 states in the Union.

Watch out! This is dangerous stuff. Many of these religious leaders are dominionists and are starting to show their true hand. They want to overthrow the separation of church and state and bring in so-called “biblical principles” to govern America. While some of this is good, dominionism is also extremism. Dominionism as the belief that “America is a Christian nation” and involves opposition to separation of church and state. Some aspects of dominionism include dominion theology and Christian Reconstructionism.
