By Pastor Hal Mayer
Dear Friends,
Today we are going to see how the assassination of Charlie Kirk brings political violence into prophetic focus. We live in an age of increasing violence. But we need to understand violence and why it occurs. God’s people will face violence to silence their testimony at the end of time. We had better understand how God intends to deal with it and how we should view it and know how to trust God when we are faced with violence for religious reasons.
Let us pray. Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for giving us the Bible. It is so revealing and guides us in our difficult times. Come to us as we study today and help us understand our times. We are living in very violent times and there’s reason for it. The enemy has gained more power as you have pulled back on the winds of strife. We can expect more violence in the future but we need to know how to understand and navigate it. So please send your Holy Spirit to us today as we study. In Jesus name, Amen.
To begin our study today, turn with me in your Bibles to 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
“The world is losing its mind,” wrote Tim Stanley of the Telegraph, in the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. “This has to be more than a cultural war?” He added. “It’s spiritual. Consider that damaged soul who shot all those kids at the Annunciation Catholic School or the man who stabbed a woman on a train in North Carolina: Whatever manifesto they stood on or medications they’d missed, they exuded the sulphuric air of someone oppressed by demons, as if an evil spirit is abroad in the land.”
“Sulphuric air” suggests the sulphur storm of Sodom and Gomorrah of Bible times. Its explosive quality is a fitting symbol of the dangerous anger that wells up in people who are under the control of Satan. Here is a statement from Desire of Ages, page 122 that speaks to this point.
“The uncontrolled indulgence and consequent disease and degradation that existed at Christ’s first advent will again exist, with intensity of evil, before His second coming. Christ declares that the condition of the world will be as in the days before the Flood, and as in Sodom and Gomorrah. Every imagination of the thoughts of the heart will be evil continually. Upon the very verge of that fearful time we are now living, and to us should come home the lesson of the Saviour’s fast. Only by the inexpressible anguish which Christ endured can we estimate the evil of unrestrained indulgence. His example declares that our only hope of eternal life is through bringing the appetites and passions into subjection to the will of God.”
When you think of the obesity problem in the western world it’s obvious that the appetites are not under control even among Christians. Self-indulgence runs rampant. People don’t think of the effect of indulgence especially on the mind. For when their minds are not under the control of reason, they can be easily inflamed to do the will of Satan. The enemy gets control of the youth when their minds are most impressionable. And the habits developed in early life deepen as they continue them while they grow older, and Satan locks them into his ways of thinking even before they recognize that they have a problem. Listen to this statement from Councils on Health, page 112.
“The youth of today are a sure index to the future of society; and as we view them, what can we hope for that future? The majority are fond of amusement and averse to work. They lack moral courage to deny self and to respond to the claims of duty. They have but little self-control and become excited and angry on the slightest occasion. Very many in every age and station of life are without principle or conscience; and with their idle, spendthrift habits they are rushing into vice and are corrupting society, until our world is becoming a second Sodom. If the appetites and passions were under the control of reason and religion, society would present a widely different aspect. God never designed that the present woeful condition of things should exist; it has been brought about through the gross violation of nature’s laws.”
Now with a flood of unrestrained indulgence, we are reaping what we have sown in our society by unrestrained violence. Our collective minds have been overtaken by that evil spirit that is abroad in the land and now we face a time like in Noah’s day when violence is rampant. When I think about the gruesome violence in just this year, I am appalled. Most people don’t even flinch. Their minds have become numb to it. Hollywood constantly churns out movies about violence, and creators of video games about killing other people have provided a steady visual and mental diet of violence that has seared the consciences of so many that the carnage in real life does even phase them anymore. In fact, some relish it and participate in it. Listen to this Scripture verse from Psalm 101:3.
“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”
As you can see from this scripture, we must always keep our minds from viewing evil or else our conscience will be gradually seared to where we can’t discern right from wrong anymore. And when that happens Satan has complete sway with us. And when it happens to enough people the enemy can gain control or at least greatly influence society. Listen to this from Review and Herald, February 20, 1866.
“God has committed to my care children, not to train for worldly amusement, but for Heaven; and it is my duty to place them in the best possible conditions to understand their duty to God, and to become heirs of immortality… There is enough frivolity existing all around us, having a tendency to discourage serious impressions, and to put God out of the mind. Thousands of youth have bid fair to be an honor to their parents, and useful members in society, who have in an evil hour yielded to the Tempter who came in the form of a professed friend, and for the first time broke over the barrier to their conscience and attended the theater, to see and hear the performance of some celebrated actor. Everything fascinates them—their imagination is lively—their senses, their hearts, are carried away captive—they are intoxicated with excitement. They leave the theater; but their imagination continues to dwell upon the scenes they have witnessed, and they are anxious to go again, and again. They acquire a passion to witness theatrical performances. At times they may be convicted that card-playing and attending theaters are not having a beneficial influence upon their health and morals; yet they do not possess sufficient fortitude and independence to tear away from these exciting pleasures… They thus stifle conscience with the example of worldly, pleasure-loving, professed Christians… They yield to temptation and continue their downward course until their consciences become seared, and they will not hesitate to degrade themselves by any vice.”
This was written long before the modern technology of movies and video games came into existence. But the principle still remains the same. Set nothing before your eyes that will dull your conscience. Charlie Kirk’s assassin was deeply involved in gaming. Listen to what Governor Cox of Utah said about Charlie Kirk’s assassin.
“Clearly, there was a lot of gaming going on, friends that have confirmed that there was kind of that deep, dark internet, Reddit culture and these other dark places of the internet where this person was going deep.”
His conscience was seared. He could not discern between right and wrong, and he didn’t have the internal independence and fortitude to resist the enemy’s promptings. He obviously had an addiction to gaming and did not have a relationship with God. In fact, he was opposed to Christianity because he thought it was “filled with hate.” Anyone who wants to continue in sin will see Christianity as filled with hate, because true Christianity does not condone sin. Listen to this from the SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, page 1142.
“The gospel is now resolutely opposed on every hand. Never was the confederacy of evil greater than at the present time. The spirits of darkness are combining with human agencies to set them firmly against the commandments of God. Traditions and falsehoods are exalted above the Scriptures; reason and science above revelation; human talent above the teachings of the Spirit; forms and ceremonies above the vital power of godliness. We need the divine touch.”
The world is losing it reason. Indeed, a very evil spirit is in the land. The world has taken a darker turn, and it is an irreversible turn. One week in September was an illustration and a reminder of it. It began with the brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska, murdered by a repeat criminal, with an overly lenient judiciary as an accomplice. They let him off with a very lenient sentence. Now Charlie Kirk, who championed dialogue and debate, has been gunned down by an assassin. The famous and not-so-famous alike have been killed. Many people are asking the question “where is this world headed?”
Charlie Kirk was killed by a sniper at 160 yards before a stunned crowd of 3,000 people in broad daylight with chilling precision, while he was speaking at an outdoor event at a Utah university. The shooter was apparently quite young, but he had obviously trained for such a moment. A novice cannot shoot that accurately from that distance. You have to time your breathing, and even your heartrate to be that precise. Your trigger finger has to be very, very steady so that the gun doesn’t move in the slightest degree. So, he had to have some background with the weapon and had some instruction as well as practice.
It was a horrifying tragedy. Kirk was only 31 years old and was a prominent conservative. The assassination has all the earmarks of a political hit job. Ericka Kirk, his widow, spoke of the shooter in the plural, suggesting that there were masters orchestrating the whole thing. And now there are social media posts that have been uncovered that were written before the assassination that seemed to indicate that a number of people had foreknowledge about what would happen. These posts have been deleted but were recovered during the investigation. One of them referenced the date of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, September 10, more than a month before it took place. It said,
“September 10th will be a very interesting day.”
After Kirk’s assassination, the same account followed up:
“I plead the fifth.”
Another post attributed to the assassin’s transgender lover, said on September 10,
“We (expletive) did it.”
Another user, who had wished death to Kirk posted this the day before the assassination.
“Charlie Kirk is coming to my college tomorrow and I really hope somebody evaporates him literally… Let’s just say something big will happen tomorrow.”
Someone who appears to be transgender posted the following:
“Charles James Kirk, Mr. college dropout, does NOT know what is coming tomorrow. be ready, this is not a threat… it’s a promise.”
And lastly Tyler Robinson himself left a note under a keyboard that his roommate found that said,
“I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
And his reason for the assassination,
“I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”
And it’s true. There is no negotiation with people that have Biblical convictions. And he concluded,
“The guy spreads too much hate.”
The FBI is investigating whether there were transgender individuals or groups that knew that the shooter, Tyler Robinson, was going to attempt an assassination. They are checking to see any extended network “aided and abetted” Tyler Robinson with the assassination.
But this is only the latest assassination attempt. In the last few months and years, a litany of assassinations have plagued the nation, and the threat of violence has grown dramatically and more insistent.
For instance, recently two Israeli embassy staffers were shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington DC. Then a man shouting “free Palestine” tossed Molotov cocktails at a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, CO, injuring multiple people and killing one. And a gunman who allegedly held anti-vaccine views opened fire at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta.
In April of 2025, the Pennsylvania governor’s residence was set on fire in an arson attack. The suspect allegedly planned to beat Governor Josh Shapiro with a hammer.
Paul Pelosi, the husband of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was attacked in October of 2022 and was seriously injured with a hammer by an intruder in their California home.
In June of 2022, an armed man was arrested near the home of the Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and later admitted he intended to kill him.
In June of 2017, Steve Scalise, a republican congressman was critically wounded during a shooting at a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia.
On June 14, 2025, Melissa Hortman, the Minnesota Democratic state lawmaker and her husband were murdered in their home by a gunman with a “hit list” of 45 Democratic officials. The same shooter almost killed another couple the same morning. Democratic senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were shot multiple times in their home too. Providentially they survived.
Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare Group was fatally shot in New York City. The man charged with the murder was allegedly angry about healthcare policy.
As you can see from these examples, the political violence is on both sides of the political spectrum. But these examples are only some in a series of violent attacks that reveal a significant development in terms of prophecy. And if you add them all up there have been at least 150 politically motivated attacks in the first half of this year, already double the number for the same period last year. Also, this year there have been over 14,000 threats to members of Congress so far. That’s compared to 9,000 in all of last year. The escalation of violence and threats of violence is leading America into its darkest period in history. The winds of strife are being let loose. The storm is gathering. This statement from Education, page 179 is more meaningful now than ever.
“Angels are now restraining the winds of strife that they may not blow until the world shall be warned of its coming doom, but a storm is gathering, ready to burst upon the earth, and when God shall bid His angels loose the winds there will be such a scene of strife as no pen can picture.”
Are we coming to that time. Is God slowly withdrawing His protection on the world? Our world is spinning out of control. We should take heed because our redemption draweth nigh.
Surveys have shown an increased acceptance of using violence for political aims across both parties. For example, “When asked whether using violence to stop a public speaker on campus is acceptable, only 66% of students responded that the tactic is “never acceptable”. Meanwhile, 15% responded that violence is always or sometimes acceptable, with a further 19% saying that it was “rarely acceptable.” The combined 34% is a record-setting figure. As in the case of Charlie Kirk it only takes one of those in the 15% group to pull it off in the right circumstances.
“At the political extremes, over a third of “very liberal” students (36%) and “very conservative” students (37%) believe that violence is at least rarely acceptable. Where 29% of all female students think violence is at least rarely acceptable (as in some “clear-cut” cases), 38% of males surveyed believe the same.” This rises to 46% among gender non-conforming students. And the numbers more than doubled since last fall. The United States and other western countries are becoming more and more of a powder keg. The current moment is an era of violent populism. Many have said that we are nearing a civil war. Think about what that means; Americans fighting and killing Americans. Are we on the verge of a bloodbath. The world is losing its reason.
These rankings present a concerning picture of the state of free expression on American campuses. Of the 257 schools surveyed, 166 received an F grade, with marks awarded based on factors including how comfortable students feel publicly expressing their views, as well as institutional neutrality on political issues. That’s 65%. Meanwhile, only 11 colleges received a grade of C or higher. Censorship of speech is a very strong feature of our society. Censorship and cancellation during the pandemic brought the whole issue to the forefront of society worldwide. This was the signal that censorship is acceptable and opened the floodgates for everyone to engage in it in some form or another, including on college campuses, on social media, in churches, in banking, and for individuals themselves.
Third of US students say violence is acceptable response to speech [1]
After such appalling attacks, we ought to stop and ask ourselves why are they happening? These events should cause us to be asking a lot of probing questions. People can’t reason anymore. People can’t tolerate other viewpoints anymore. When we have to censor viewpoints and cancel, deplatform, and debank people, we’ve lost the tolerance of opposing viewpoints, and can’t persuasively convince people of our position, we will only have violence left to shut down, or cancel a viewpoint that we don’t like. Charlie Kirk was a very persuasive debater that really couldn’t be defeated. This angered his opponents. They could not be reasoned with, and so they resorted to violence. Those who accused him of spewing hatred were actually the ones that were hateful. When we don’t have the ability to debate and dialogue, we have conditions for war! Civil war! And there are people predicting it. What does the Bible mean when it says in Daniel 12:1;
“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that same time; and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book.”
A time of trouble certainly includes a civil war as well as many other kinds of violence, even extreme violence. Get ready for this. It may be in many countries. This time it may not be about race, though it could include some elements of that. This time it will probably be focused on ideology or viewpoint. And the mainstream media are guilty of stoking it. Men and women are being pushed to extremes. What does the Bible mean when it says that the end of time will be like the days of Noah? Let’s read it from Luke 17:26.
“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”
To find out how the days of Noah were, we must turn to the Genesis 6:5, 6, 11-13.
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.”
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
Listen to this from Patriarchs and Prophets, page 92.
“Neither the marriage relation nor the rights of property were respected. Whoever coveted the wives or the possessions of his neighbor, took them by force, and men exulted in their deeds of violence. They delighted in destroying the life of animals; and the use of flesh for food rendered them still more cruel and bloodthirsty, until they came to regard human life with astonishing indifference.”
Violence is the result of some people giving up and intellectually surrendering, if you will, on dialogue. They can’t win the argument by their mind, so they resort to acting like an animal and trying to defeat that person physically. Violence as a way of silencing or cancelling their opponent, but it is actually a form of conceding or giving up. And now you see where All this canceling, censorship, and deplatforming will end up. Violence is the most immoral thing you can do, and it is the weakest thing you can do to show anyone whose watching that you are actually an intellectual coward. That is true for the individual and for society. We go to war for the same reason. It is saying we can’t resolve this issue by dialogue and negotiation, so we resort to violence and kill each other. And that’s the way it will be at the end of time. Listen to this from Great Controversy, page 631.
“The heavenly sentinels, faithful to their trust, continue their watch. Though a general decree has fixed the time when commandment keepers may be put to death, their enemies will in some cases anticipate the decree, and before the time specified, will endeavor to take their lives. But none can pass the mighty guardians stationed about every faithful soul. Some are assailed in their flight from the cities and villages; but the swords raised against them break and fall powerless as a straw. Others are defended by angels in the form of men of war.”
Historically, violence has always been what people resort to when they cannot persuade by discourse or dialogue. It started with Cain. It would have happened to Lot had not the angels intervened. Isaiah was murdered when his words could not be controverted. They tried violence against Jeremiah and other prophets. The Sanhedrin and clergy in Christ’s day, when they couldn’t discredit Him, their anger knew no bounds, and they resorted to the most extreme violence and tortured Him and then crucified him. Steven was stoned by an angry Sanhedrin that couldn’t controvert his arguments. Paul was persecuted with violence as were many of his colleges. Wycliffe was threatened with violence. Hus and Jerome were burned at the stake. Luther was threatened with violence and many of his followers were burned at the stake. The anabaptists were slain by the violence of the Calvinists. John Wesley suffered much violence from mobs who were riled up into a rage. Today, in some countries the followers of Jesus experience deadly violence, like in North Korea, Iran and China. The underground church in these places attracts violence.
Hebrews 11 tell us of violence that was inflicted upon God’s servants to cancel or silence them. Verse 36 – 38.
“And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
When we attack someone with violence, we are virtually attacking God with violence because we are all made in the image of God. We are His creation. When we attack another human, it’s a divine offence. Violence is extremely serious. The level of violence today is not surprising when the culture murders unborn children at the rate that we do and have condoned it for decades.
The enemy of mankind is stoking violence culture in many different ways, and for a very specific reason. Violence, especially strongly emotional violence, causes a reaction that locks down cities, naval bases, universities, sports stadiums, and most importantly removes freedom. That’s his goal. Remove freedom. Remember, the enemy hates freedom especially freedom of religion. He wants to create an environment of fear by violence, and people will give up their freedoms in the search for safety and security. “Peace and safety,” is the motivation for removing our freedoms. That leads to sudden and surprising violence and destruction. It seems counterintuitive at first glance, but it’s not. Fear drives violence. Fear of violence is also used to intimidate or silence other voices that would speak truth, especially truth to power. Thus evil builds strength in an environment of fear.
If people are frightened, they will go to extremes to remove whatever they fear. And if the right circumstances exist (and those are developing right now), groups of individuals can be demonized to create an environment that makes society fear them. Remember, Satan still hates Sabbath keepers with a passion because the Sabbath is their statement of freedom in Christ and their loyalty statement to God, the two issues that Satan is determined to stamp out, freedom and loyalty to God.
The assassination of Charlie Kirk, the highest-profile American political figure to be assassinated in nearly six decades, represents a tipping point for the nation, say legal scholars. It gives the political right the excuse to take more control. The religious right gains more influence and power in politics and puts the left further on their back feet. It also showed us that people are ready to take up revenge and fight with carnal weapons. The political pendulum has swung very far to the left. Could the pendulum be swinging back to the right, and will it eventually go to extremes? Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:4,
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
But people don’t follow the Bible or even read its sacred pages. Here is something from Great Controversy, page 582.
“The agencies which will unite against truth and righteousness in this contest are now actively at work. God’s holy word, which has been handed down to us at such a cost of suffering and blood, is but little valued. The Bible is within the reach of all, but there are few who really accept it as the guide of life. Infidelity prevails to an alarming extent, not in the world merely, but in the church. Many have come to deny doctrines which are the very pillars of the Christian faith. The great facts of creation as presented by the inspired writers, the fall of man, the atonement, and the perpetuity of the law of God, are practically rejected, either wholly or in part, by a large share of the professedly Christian world. Thousands who pride themselves upon their wisdom and independence regard it as evidence of weakness to place implicit confidence in the Bible; they think it a proof of superior talent and learning to cavil at the Scriptures and to spiritualize and explain away their most important truths. Many ministers are teaching their people, and many professors and teachers are instructing their students, that the law of God has been changed or abrogated; and those who regard its requirements as still valid, to be literally obeyed, are thought to be deserving only of ridicule or contempt.”
And people are angry, and that anger coupled with a declining moral restraint leads them to do horrific things. Underscoring America’s spiritual sickness, some members of Congress loudly objected to even coming together to pray for Charlie Kirk while he lay wounded. America is so divided that the two sides cannot even come together to pray. One commentator wrote,
“Extreme political violence is increasingly becoming the norm in our country, and the shooting of Charlie Kirk is indicative of a far greater and more pervasive issue: Acts of violence are becoming more common, even without any clear ideology or motive,”
In other words, people engage in violence for the sake of violence. Does that remind you of the antediluvian world when the earth was filled with violence?
Stanley was right: An evil spirit is abroad in the land, alright. America, and the whole world, is spiritually sick. I don’t know if you’ve noticed it, but corresponding with the increased violence, there is a huge increase in the interest in the occult. The Nashville and Minneapolis transgender shooters were both obviously demon possessed. Many are recognizing the real, evil, spirit world at work here. Listen to this from Education, page 228.
“At the same time anarchy is seeking to sweep away all law, not only divine, but human. The centralizing of wealth and power; the vast combinations for the enriching of the few at the expense of the many; the combinations of the poorer classes for the defense of their interests and claims; the spirit of unrest, of riot and bloodshed; the world-wide dissemination of the same teachings that led to the French Revolution—all are tending to involve the whole world in a struggle similar to that which convulsed France.”
Do we have all these things today? Is the world losing its mind, its reason. What happens when the world loses its reason. Just look at the French Revolution. And now we’re coming to that point again here in America.
We must recognize the devil at work and turn to God in repentance, for we are very near the end of time. Your only protection is in God especially at the end of time. Related to all the violence is the ominous question, what’s next, and what is to be done about it? And there are no obvious answers. Politicians, pastors and other leaders, make good and valid statements against violence, but it does no good. People who are bent on violence will pursue it anyway.
America has become a nation shaped by political violence and steeped in its aftershocks and the violence is on both sides of the political spectrum. Shannon Hiller, executive director of Princeton University’s Bridging Divides Initiative, which tracks political violence in the United States says,
“I think the evidence is clear that we are at a dangerous point of potential escalation.”
A wide range of forces, she argues; the widespread use of dehumanizing rhetoric, the availability of firearms, the spread of disinformation, vanishing trust in institutions, have converged to create an intractable problem. She continues,
“It’s the confluence of all these things that we are living in. And it’s why it’s so hard to put a finger on a single solution to get us out of it.”
I would add something else to the list, the rise of secularism and the occult. When people don’t have the Bible as the basis of society, and the basis of their lives, they become mentally unstable and will resort to violence when they are angry. This will create a need in people’s minds for a government that takes strong action. Almost dictatorial actions. And they will give voice to this desire. Executive orders that empower officials to do things that would not normally be done will be enacted (and some are already being enacted). They will overreach their authority.
Eventually, things will become so bad, that is civil war erupts. The nation will be torn apart. Families will be split. Churches will be split. Society will be split. If your mind is enlightened by Bible prophecy, you can see these things clearly even before they happen. Most people simply react. But God’s people will not react. They have followed His counsel in every area, and He will protect them. He will place them where they can be effective in giving His three angels messages to the world according to His will. But things will not be pretty. Don’t look for a smooth ride. There will be violence and tragic losses. Let us read Luke 21:28
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
This is a pivotal moment for God’s people. Everything seems to be coordinated and aligned so that the religious right gains more power. If you know what that means, you will not be deceived when Satan plays his trump card (no pun intended). The enemy will place God’s people in a most despicable light, similar to World War II when Jewish people were falsely accused of awful crimes and persecuted. They had been mostly Sabbath keepers throughout history. And the enemy still wants to annihilate them because he has an unrelenting, passionate hatred of the Sabbath.
Charlie Kirk wrote a number of books, some of which are sold out on Amazon since the assassination. He had recently become a Sabbath keeper due to Dennis Prager’s influence. Dennis is a conservative Jew. Charlie subsequently wrote a book on the seventh day Sabbath to be released at the end of the year. It is called, “Stop in the name of God.” God will certainly use it to bring the Sabbath into prominence. But this may cause a reaction against the Sabbath of the Bible and create agitation about the Sunday-Sabbath debate. You can see where that’s headed. And it will be both sides of the political spectrum. Remember that the left and the right united together to crucify Christ. Likewise in our day, the left and the right will unite to persecute God’s people. This issue deserves watching very closely.
The reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death has been overwhelming. Forty-eight hours after the shooting, huge vigils were held. $3,000,000 was raised for his family. Turning Point received 32,000 inquiries for starting new chapters across the nation. His memorial service in the Glendale AZ stadium was attended by thousands upon thousands of people. This has been a tipping point for the nation. It has energized the conservative base.
So where do we go from here. Give yourself to contemplation of these things. You need to bring your life completely into harmony with heaven. There is not a moment to lose.
Let us pray. Our Father in heaven, we see that we are very near the end of time. The Bible was accurate and very precise. The violence in society is very extreme. We can’t live this way much longer. Please Jesus, make us holy and righteous. And protect us we pray from anything that would take away our salvation. Godly love is the antidote to violence. Give us love for everyone including those who offend us. This is not natural. It only comes from You. So do that work in our souls. Give us firmness to principle so that we can have victory over sin and over the enemy. We ask these favors in Jesus name, Amen.
