A Message from Pastor Mayer…

Dear Friends

It has come to my attention that I may have offered opinions that were taken by some as if I was supporting or taking up defense for Donald Trump around the recent election. I apologize for the offensive statements and for not clarifying them as I should have when making them. Perhaps it would help to do so now. As the saying goes “better late than never.”

We are living in a post-truth world in which little of what you see on the surface is reliable on either side. There is now no common understanding of reality. Each person has his own truth derived from a myriad of sources. The church is even divided along the same lines as the political and cultural world. The enemy would have it this way because he can confuse and deceive more powerfully.

We are counseled not to take political sides. And for good reason. For example, Fundamentals of Christian Education, page 475.

“The Lord would have His people bury political questions. On these themes silence is eloquence. Christ calls upon His followers to come into unity on the pure gospel principles which are plainly revealed in the word of God. We cannot with safety vote for political parties; for we do not know whom we are voting for. We cannot with safety take part in any political schemes. We cannot labor to please men who will use their influence to repress religious liberty, and to set in operation oppressive measures to lead or compel their fellow men to keep Sunday as the Sabbath. The first day of the week is not a day to be reverenced. It is a spurious sabbath, and the members of the Lord’s family cannot participate with the men who exalt this day, and violate the law of God by trampling upon His Sabbath. The people of God are not to vote to place such men in office; for when they do this, they are partakers with them of the sins which they commit while in office.”

I have used that statement over and over again in my years of ministry and I aim to live by it. I don’t blame anyone but me for the misunderstanding that occurred for some people. I did not mean to alienate anyone over seemingly political views or over statements that are not understood the same way by my friends as listeners and readers of KTF. My message is not about politics, but about prophecy and its fulfillment. It was a great lesson that showed me that we can’t get too close to the line in pursuit of understanding the prophetic, because some could be alienated. I don’t want to diminish my prophetic voice to God’s people.

I believe Donald Trump to be morally compromised, even corrupt, untrustworthy, and a man given to falsehoods or shading of the truth, just like most politicians or businessmen, no matter how sincere they may be. His life was anything but exemplary. When I said something about him fraudulently losing the election, I was pointing out that the globalist elites manipulate elections (probably regularly, in many countries) and will stoop to anything to arrive at global control – and then cover their tracks. Globalism is a prophetic issue. Roman Catholicism stands with the globalists and their ultimate agenda.

My basic argument was that Mr. Trump, whatever his character, was not a globalist, and was promoting freedom, including religious freedom. And that is a prophetic issue.

I’m not being one-sided; I took aim at Mr. Trump’s alliance with evangelicals early in his term as president. Another prophetic issue. I also took Mr. Trump to task for his connections to the Jesuits and the Catholic Church. I called out his visit to the Vatican, the earliest ever for a U.S. President. That is a preeminent prophetic issue.

For those who are wondering about what I believe about the Biden administration, I see that Mr. Biden has done the opposite in classic Hegelian dialectic. Being the second catholic president, he has re-entered the papal (and globalist) climate agreement. He is aligning the U.S. with other globalist treaties. Domestically, He put the first transgender in his cabinet as Secretary of Health. He has appointed a strong abortionist to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. He is bringing back big government, with its drain on the economy and increased inflation, and especially its alliance with globalism. The rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. The equality act, one of his signature domestic issues, is also a terrible piece of legislation that will strip away freedoms, including religious freedom, all in the name of LGBT+ equality.

There is no hope from politicians on either side to uphold truth. No stopping the onslaught against truth, because God is allowing the enemy to work his work on both sides. We can’t expect our government leaders to defend a shared truth because there isn’t any shared truth anymore. It’s interesting that it was during the Trump administration that shared truth lost the most ground, it seems.

I do not hold out much hope for America’s future as the “land of the free.” Freedom is being trampled underfoot. My hope and confidence are in the great and unchangeable Jehovah. The Bible is the only truth that is reliable today.

In spite of his defense of liberty and the free market, Mr. Trump was used to move the prophetic clock forward toward the end of time and the coming of Jesus.

God sets up kings and takes them down for His own reasons. We must not be partisan in our message, and I am sorry if I gave that impression.

Human opinions don’t matter at the end of the day. Only God’s opinion is important. I plan to be one of the redeemed, and I pray that I will always stand on the Bible as the infallible word of God. I hope you do too.
