Mark Zuckerberg says NSA is a Threat

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, is upset with the NSA. He believes it has overstepped its bounds in surveillance. So, Mark called President Obama and told him so. “The U.S. government should be the champion for the Internet, not a threat…” he wrote in his Facebook status update. “I’ve called the President to express my frustration over the damage the government is creating for all our future. Unfortunately, it seems like it will take a very long time for true full reform.”

Zuckerberg’s status update came a day after documents from whistle-blower Edward Snowden exposed the NSA’s automated system called Turbine that it has used to hack into millions of computers. The NSA even used a fake Facebook server to infect computers.

“I’ve been so confused and frustrated by the repeated reports of the behavior of the US government,” said Zuckerberg. “When our engineers work tirelessly to improve security, we imagine we’re protecting you against criminals, not our own government,” Zuckerberg said.

Note that Zuckerberg is angry that the NSA has used Facebook to target millions of computers. Also, he is frustrated that the government isn’t willing to stop its unconstitutional behavior. He believes it has become a threat to the Internet.

The NSA isn’t interested in changing its behavior.

Every principle of the U.S. Constitution will be repudiated. (See Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, and page 451.) The NSA is just one rather important part of it.
