Italy’s PM Meets with Pope

Pope Francis met with the Enrico Letta, the new Prime Minister of the Italian Republic to discuss the social situation and jobs for youth in Italy.

In a statement, the Vatican said the two men discussed the active contribution of Catholic institutions to family life in Italy and how it contributes to the stability of the country.

Remember, the Catholic Church has an interest in promoting the notion that the church contributes to national and family stability because these things are intimately linked to Sunday observance and the practice of the Roman Catholic religion.

They also discussed international politics, especially in the Middle East. “Concluding their meeting, both parties confirmed their commitment to mutual cooperation for the good of the Italian nation and the international community.”

Following his meeting with the Pope, Mr. Letta, who has close ties to the Vatican, met with Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of State, who was accompanied by Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary of Relations with States.
