ISIS Galvanizing the International Community

The Islamic State militants have been weakened considerably and destabilized due to their unruly leadership and numerous defections to the point where it is now unable to fight off even a small attack. ISIS exaggerated its military power, according to terror analyst Dr. Afzal Ashraf, which has in effect prompted an international counterattack.

The U.S. has led airstrikes against ISIS, but now Russia is taking the lead in fighting them in Syria in defense of dictator Bashar Al-Assad, by starting an air campaign followed by 150,000 ground troopes.

“This mythical state will disappear in a matter of hours once the international community decides to act,” says Ashraf.

American analysts apparently disagree. They believe that ISIS is well armed from all the American equipment left behind by the Iraqis and that they are well funded by the bank robberies and oil dollars to which they have access.

“Though ISIS has developed the impression that they are far more capable than they are, but in reality ISIS has only carried out one terror attack in the last 14 months,” argues Ashraf.

ISIS indirectly inspires more attacks abroad than it manages to carry out, which in turn has motivated the international community against them, including the British, Russians and others. The refugee crisis has also taken the heat off of Assad and transferred the focus onto themselves.

“ISIS has now achieved itself through its own actions what many politicians and people failed to do,” said Ashraf, “and that’s to galvanize the international community against it.”

And he will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. Genesis 16:12
