Franklin Graham Says “Hand of God” Determined Election

Franklin Graham, son of Baptist evangelist Billy Graham and President and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association says that it was the “hand of God,” rather than Russian hackers, that determined the outcome of November’s presidential election.

“I think maybe God has allowed Donald Trump to win this election to protect this nation for the next few years by giving maybe an opportunity to have some good judges,” said Graham.

Graham will be one of six clergy to offer the invocation, benediction and several readings at Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony on January 20. Graham said that beyond mere human factors, the mysterious hand of divine providence was at work in the elections.

“All I know is Donald Trump was supposed to lose the election” according to all the polls, he said. “For these states to go the way they did, in my opinion, I think it was the hand of God,” he added. “It wasn’t hacking. It wasn’t Wiki-leaky or whatever. It was God, in my opinion, and I believe His hand was at work, and I think he’s given Christians an opportunity.”

What opportunity might that be? While evangelicals will certainly influence Donald Trump and the Republican congress to do some very worthwhile things, the liberals have pushed America so far to the left that these evangelicals will likely find it hard to resist going beyond the right balance and to far in the opposite direction and imposing laws that would restrict religious freedom of minority religions.

Graham never endorsed Trump, but was a sharp critic of the Obama administration and a vocal opponent of Hillary Clinton, especially for her uncompromising support of abortion-on-demand.

Shortly before Election Day, Graham declared that the best choice for president “isn’t difficult to figure out if you are a Christian.”

“I think Donald Trump has changed,” Graham said a few weeks earlier. “I think God is working on his heart and in his life. But people have to make up their own mind.”

“Our political system is broken, and it will take strong, tough leadership to begin fixing some of this,” Graham, who has not yet chosen his inauguration Scripture, said.

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:15.
