Los hallazgos fueron publicados en las Actas de la Academia Nacional de Ciencias y tendr\u00e1n implicaciones significativas para el campo de la biolog\u00eda sint\u00e9tica. Tambi\u00e9n significa que el objetivo de Harvard y el MIT de crear el primer humano artificial del mundo despu\u00e9s de 2035, un proyecto en el que han estado trabajando durante un par de a\u00f1os, tambi\u00e9n es cada vez m\u00e1s factible.<\/p>\n<p>El nuevo genoma, llamado Caulobacter Ethensis 2.0, no es un organismo vivo, todav\u00eda, y s\u00f3lo existe como un grupo de ADN. Sin embargo, este logro representa un salto gigantesco hacia la creaci\u00f3n de la llamada Vida Sint\u00e9tica, y las primeras Formas de Vida verdaderamente sint\u00e9ticas del mundo, algo que nunca hab\u00edamos visto antes.<\/p>\n<p>El nuevo genoma se deriv\u00f3 del de Caulobacter Crescentus, o simplemente Caulobacter, una bacteria natural que se encuentra en el agua de manantial, r\u00edos y lagos de todo el mundo. Mientras que Venter y su equipo hicieron una copia exacta del genoma de sus bacterias, el nuevo genoma generado por computadora contiene un conjunto completamente nuevo de genes generados por el algoritmo.<\/p>\n<p>De cualquier manera, crear un genoma bacteriano completamente desde cero no es una tarea f\u00e1cil. Se necesita un enfoque paso a paso. As\u00ed que comenzando con el conjunto m\u00ednimo de genes de Caulobacter, el equipo de ETH Zurich cre\u00f3 por primera vez 236 segmentos gen\u00f3micos. Luego los segmentos fueron ensamblados.
