U.S.: Illegal Voters Sway Elections

A recent academic study published by Judicial Watch pointed out that the number of non-citizen voters in the U.S. “could range from just over 38,000 at the very minimum to nearly 2.8 million at the maximum,” and that they mostly vote democrat. For instance, the study said that 81.8 percent of non-citizen voters voted for Barack Obama compared with 17.5 percent for John McCain in the 2008 national election. In 2010, 53.8 percent of non-citizens reported voting democrat while only 30.7 percent voted Republican. The study pointed out that it is possible that the illegal votes were responsible for democratic victories, particularly in close elections.

The study shows that foreign nationals illegal vote in federal elections. It should be no surprise then that democratic leaders oppose voter ID, defend open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, along with other policies that increase the illegal ballot.

Judicial Watch said its efforts have proved voter rolls in Mississippi, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Florida, California and Colorado contained ineligible voters. While most non-citizens do not register to vote, the study revealed that there are enough to change the outcome of close races. The study says that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent in 2010. “This is outrageous…,” said Judicial Watch, “and illustrates the need to clean up voter rolls in this country.”

Kansas and Arizona recently passed laws that require voters to prove citizenship.
