Donald Trump appoints at Least Nine Christians to His Cabinet

“For many years, we have prayed that God would raise up men and women of God to positions of leadership and influence in our country,” wrote David Murray, pastor and author. “However, since the end of the George W. Bush administration, there have been [precious] few answers to that prayer.” The writer continues, wondering aloud, “Who would have thought that Donald Trump might be the answer to that prayer?”

President-elect Donald Trump has so far appointed nine professed Christians to his cabinet at the White House.

Among the list is Vice-president elect Mike Pence, who said, “My Christian faith is at the heart of who I am” and “I’m a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order,” Chief of Staff Reince Preibus, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Housing and Urban Development’s Dr. Ben Carson, Education’s Betsy DeVos, newly-announced Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, EPA’s Scott Pruitt, CIA’s Mike Pompeo and Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley.

Murray said the prospect of this leadership can most likely be assumed as a huge step up from the “further hounding and persecuting of Christians we’d be facing if Hillary had won.”

Where is this leading? “The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet’s words: “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17.
