Catholic Church Using Economy to Push Sunday Rest in Australia

The Catholic Church says people under pressure to work extra hours are stressing their families and that Sunday should be used as a day of rest and prayer. And they want governments and communities to support families financially so that they can do it.

The Australia Bishops Conference says that when parents work on weekends, they are robbed of time to nurture their children and other family relationships.

Housing costs, which is now 30% of income on average, put more families on the margins, particularly poor families.

Sunday as a day of rest is promoted in opposition to the Law of God which only authorizes the seventh-day of the week, Saturday as a day of rest. Eventually, Rome intends to get everyone worshipping on Sunday too.

“And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? Revelation 13:4
